Most Support Trump’s Airstrike But See Syria As A UN Problem

Most voters support President Trump’s missile strike on Syria but feel further action against the Syrian government should come from the United Nations and not the United States alone.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 57% of Likely U.S. Voters favor the president’s decision to launch a major airstrike against the Syrian military airfield responsible for a chemical weapons attack on civilians.  Thirty-two percent (32%) are opposed to that attack, while 11% are undecided. The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on April 9-10, 2017 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
