House IT Aides Fear Suspects in Hill Breach Are Blackmailing Members With Their Own Data

Congressional technology aides are baffled that data-theft allegations against four former House IT workers—who were banned from the congressional network—have largely been ignored, and they fear the integrity of sensitive high-level information. Imran Awan and three relatives were colleagues until police banned them from computer networks at the House of Representatives after suspicion the brothers accessed congressional computers without permission. Five Capitol Hill technology aides told The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group that members of Congress have displayed an inexplicable and intense loyalty toward the suspects who police say victimized them. The baffled aides wonder if the suspects are blackmailing representatives based on the contents of their emails and files, to which they had full access. “I don’t know what they have, but they have something on someone. It’s been months at this point” with no … Read entire article »

Here’s What’s in Trump’s ‘Taxpayers First’ Federal Budget

The Trump administration will respect taxpayers, balance the budget, return the country to 3 percent economic growth, and push a parental leave requirement in its fiscal plan to be released Tuesday, said Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney. Mulvaney called it a “taxpayers first budget.” “This budget was written through the eyes of the people paying for the budget, not through the eyes of who is getting paid,” Mulvaney told reporters Monday during an off-camera briefing at the White House. Mulavney elaborated that budget writers went line-by-line through the budget to see what programs had a success rate and what programs didn’t. The White House released a general outline of the plan Monday, before the full plan is released on Tuesday. The budget includes $3.6 trillion in spending cuts over 10 years, … Read entire article »

Trump Signals a Reset Between Israel and US

It’s time to patch up America’s second “special relationship” after eight years of frayed feelings between the United States and Israel. That’s the message President Donald Trump is sending in his early-presidency trip to Israel and unprecedented visit to the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Trump said of his Monday visit to the Western Wall, a first for sitting American presidents, that the visit was potentially a path to a “deeper” friendship with Israel. Conflicts over policy and philosophy strained the relations between former President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and led to distrust between the two countries. Pres. Veterans Claim They Were Duped Into Lobbying for Saudis

With all the worry about Russian influence over U.S. elections it’s easy to overlook the many foreign interests working to impact U.S. policy every day–through paid lobbying. American lobbyists have made billions working for foreign entities. Who’s paying whom for what is subject to federal disclosure laws. But the system may not always work as intended. In the latest episode of “Full Measure” we investigated a case in point: some U.S. military vets who claim they were duped into lobbying for the wrong side. >>> Find out when and where you can watch “Full Measure” This twisted tale of Washington, D.C., lobbying begins in an unlikely place. With a rock band from Utah. That’s Tim Cord singing … his brother on lead guitar … both Iraq war vets. Tim Cord, U.S. Military veteran: My brother and I … Read entire article »

Here’s How Many of the Top 100 Colleges Are Having Conservative Commencement Speakers

Diversity of thought continues to be decidedly unpopular at America’s top institutions of higher education. According to a new survey from Young America’s Foundation, top colleges invited 45 liberal commencement speakers this year … and a measly four conservatives. (Not all of the universities, which were drawn from U.S. News and World Report’s list, had announced a commencement speaker. Others had multiple speakers or speakers without clear ideological viewpoints.) The four conservatives are Vice President Mike Pence, who spoke Sunday at the University of Notre Dame; Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer; sports commentator Ernie Johnson; and Mayor G. T. Bynum of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The liberals include former Vice President Joe Biden; Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.; Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg (who recently donated $1 million to Planned Parenthood); New York Times columnist Frank Bruni; and … Read entire article »

Bill Protecting Faith-Based Adoption Agencies in Texas on Way to Governor’s Desk

The Texas Senate early Monday passed a bill to allow faith-based adoption and foster care providers to operate based on their religious beliefs. By a final vote of 21-10, state senators agreed with their counterparts in the Texas House of Representatives that society should continue to make room for adoption and foster care services associated with a religious tradition, whether Christian or Muslim.   Only one Democrat joined the Senate’s 20 Republicans in voting for the bill. The remaining 10 voted against it. In an interview Monday with The Daily Signal, state Rep. James Frank, a Republican who co-wrote the legislation, predicted that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott would sign it. “I am obviously very excited about it passing the Senate, and I fully expect … that Governor Abbott will sign it and it will … Read entire article »

How Fast US Public Debt Will Grow If We Don’t Change Course

How Fast US Public Debt Will Grow If We Don’t Change Course

A fiscal storm has been brewing over America for years, and things are only getting worse. Publicly held debt—the debt the U.S. is borrowing from credit markets (as opposed to debt owed to federal trust funds like Social Security)—is at its highest level as a percentage of gross domestic product since World War II. To address the problem, Congress and the president must work together to enact a responsible, pro-growth budget that puts spending and taxes on … Read entire article »

Most Say Saudis Need to Do More to Fight Radical Islamic Terrorism

President Trump traveled to Saudi Arabia this week to reinvigorate the U.S.-Saudi alliance, but voters still think there’s a long way to go. Just 21% of Likely U.S. Voters now view Saudi Arabia as an ally of the United States, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey. That compares to 17% in January of last year and 26% in January 2015. Eleven percent (11%) consider the Saudis an enemy, but that’s down dramatically from the 29% of Americans who felt that way six years ago. Fifty-nine percent (59%) rate them somewhere in between. (To see survey question wording, click here.) (Want a free daily e-mail update? If it’s in the news, it’s in our polls). Rasmussen Reports updates are also available on Twitter or Facebook. Katy Perry calls for ‘*no barriers, no borders’ (*exclusions apply)

**Written by Doug Powers For anybody who was waiting for Katy Perry to let them know the best way to respond to terrorism in the wake of the Manchester attack, here’s the advice: Perry said, “I think the greatest thing we can do now is unite as people, as fan bases, all of it. The forgotten slaughters of the innocents by Michelle MalkinCreators Syndicate Copyright 2017 For now, everyone knows the sonorous name and cherubic face of 8-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos. She’s the littlest known victim of Monday night’s jihad attack in Manchester, England. Ironic complaint leveled after votes cast for Calif. Dem Party leader
