Russians this, Russians that. There is NO there, there!

The Russian narrative continues with NO evidence of wrong-doing. All we keep hearing about from all the main stream media is Russian collusion, Russian stealing our election and Russian backed all of President Trump’s moves while he was running for President. All of this is complete and utter nonsense. The Democrats and the left wing media outlets are good at one thing for sure – spinning propaganda! They did it well for 8 years during the Obama administration … Read entire article »

Defense Authorization Bills Advance US Missile Defense and Nuclear Weapons Priorities

Congress is currently deliberating the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2018. The NDAA is an important tool for Congress as it offers it an opportunity to influence defense policy, as well as indicate its wishes with regard to armed forces and defense programs. How do the two versions of the NDAA measure up as far as missile defense and nuclear weapons policy goes? The House Armed Services Committee version establishes a whole range of nuclear weapons and missile defense policies that would advance U.S. nuclear security in the future. The NDAA provides for creative opportunities to address and respond to Russia’s violations of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. For example, the House-passed version of the NDAA provides funding for the development of active defenses against this class of systems, explores feasibility of modifying … Read entire article »

House’s Refusal to Reassess Military Bases Will Lead to Unnecessary Costs

In passing its version of the fiscal year 2018 National Defense Authorization Act, the House of Representatives shot down the Pentagon’s plans to make more efficient use of its resources by reassessing military bases. The legislative body decided to maintain the prohibition on conducting a new round of Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), even though U.S. military leaders argue it is a crucial measure to save precious defense dollars. The rejection of BRAC was fueled by arguments that ignore how the process actually takes place and how Congress can shape and guide it toward the intended goals. The main concerns expressed by House members revolved around cutting military infrastructure at the beginning of a proposed defense rebuilding, and how to ensure that the BRAC process actually delivers meaningful savings. These are valid concerns that … Read entire article »

The Key Facts About Slavery That the Left Conveniently Ignores

Too many people believe that slavery is a “peculiar institution.” That’s what Kenneth Stampp called slavery in his book, “Peculiar Institution: Slavery in the Ante-Bellum South.” But slavery is by no means peculiar, odd, or unusual. It was common among ancient peoples such as the Egyptians, Babylonians, Assyrians, Hittites, Greeks, Persians, Armenians, and many others. Large numbers of Christians were enslaved during the Ottoman wars in Europe. White slaves were common in Europe from the Dark Ages to the Middle Ages. It was only after A.D. 1600 that Europeans joined with Arabs and Africans and started the Atlantic slave trade. As David P. Forsythe wrote in his book, “The Globalist,” “The fact remained that at the beginning of the 19th century an estimated three-quarters of all people alive were trapped in bondage against their … Read entire article »

House Republicans Lay Out Their Plan to Rein in the EPA

House Republicans Lay Out Their Plan to Rein in the EPA

House Republicans released their proposal to balance the federal budget in 10 years, which included their plans to rein in the regulatory power of the Environmental Protection Agency. Republicans plan three broad reforms for the EPA: reduce its funding, cut global warming programs, and eliminate the agency’s policy office. “The Environmental Protection Agency has long overreached in its duties,” the House budget resolution, released Tuesday, reads. “While everyone supports protecting the environment and promoting clean air and clean water, … Read entire article »

The Left Is a Greater Threat to America Than Putin

Last week, I tweeted, “The news media in the West pose a far greater danger to Western civilization than Russia does.” To my surprise, the tweet went viral. And while there were more likes than dislikes, 99 percent of the written reactions were negative. Typical reactions were: –“F— you.” –“Move to Russia.” –“Your very full diapers pose a very great danger, please change them.” That received 1,880 likes. –“I’ve wiped s— off my shoes more trustworthy and patriotic than your sorry a–.” That received 606 likes. You get the idea. But it wasn’t the ad hominem insults that I found troubling. What was troubling was the low state of logical thinking that so many responses reflected. This was exemplified by their reminding me how important a free press is to democracy (as if attacking the behavior of the media … Read entire article »

White House Panel on Voter Fraud Begins Work

A presidential commission to examine voter fraud and the soundness of election systems across the country has a big job ahead as it convenes Wednesday for the first time. Not only is the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity charged with investigating what to do about voter fraud cases and establishing best practices, it must do so despite meeting with resistance from some state election officials. The initial meeting, set for 11 a.m. in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, will be livestreamed on WhiteHouse.gov. One tool at the commission’s disposal is a database from The Heritage Foundation that compiles 1,071 cases of proven instances of voter fraud across the United States, the bulk of them prosecuted since 2000. Most of those cases, 938, ended in a criminal conviction. Another 43 ended in civil penalties. … Read entire article »

The Detroit Riot, 50 Years Later By Michael Barone

Fifty years ago this weekend, a deadly urban riot began in Detroit. It started around 3:30 a.m., when police arrested 85 patrons of a blind pig — an illegal after-hours bar — in the midst of an all-black neighborhood that had been all-white 15 or 20 years before. … Read entire article »

26% Rate Trump-Russia Allegations Nation’s Biggest Problem

Despite wall-to-wall media coverage of the Trump-Russia allegations, just one-out-of-four voters rate them as the most serious problem facing the nation. For most voters, economic issues, Obamacare and other problems are more serious. When Likely U.S. Voters are asked which of six major problems facing the nation concerns them most, the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 26% opt for the Trump administration’s alleged ties to Russia. Baltimore promotes ‘nobody kill anybody’ weekend… next month

**Written by Doug Powers With suggestions such as “try not letting Democrats run your city for decades on end” completely off the table, some Baltimore neighborhood leaders are looking for other ways to stem an out-of-control problem. Here’s the latest initiative: Bridgeford and other neighborhood leaders are drumming up support for a three-day ceasefire the first weekend of August to quell Baltimore’s violence. She admits that such peace is a tall order for a city that’s seen 188 killings this year. Organizers aim to stop the shooting from Friday, Aug. 4, through Sunday, Aug. 6, with a unified and blunt message: “Nobody kill anybody.” Their message has been printed on T-shirts and flyers. They designed a website and held community meetings. More than 1,600 people visited their Facebook page. The grass-roots campaign has … Read entire article »

This GOP senator’s NOT afraid to stand up to Trump (just don’t ask who it is)

**Written by Doug Powers The funniest paragraph I read all day is in a New York Times article about Trump’s meeting with dozens of GOP senators at the White House yesterday. During that meeting, Trump reminded them that the GOP promised to do away with Obamacare if voters gave them control in DC, and apparently not all of the senators were thrilled with the lecture. The wind-up, reportedly from a GOP senator: The president, he said, scares no one in the Senate, not even the pages. Which GOP senator said nobody in the Senate’s afraid of Trump? Here’s the pitch, which preceded the above sentence: A Republican senator, speaking on the condition of anonymity because he wanted to preserve his relationship with Mr. Trump, put it more bluntly. We have our “Anonymous Tough Guy Senator of … Read entire article »

NPR & Bill Nye share 2-step climate change fix: You stop having kids, then die ASAP

**Written by Doug Powers How to stop climate change? Here it is in two creepy, Orwellian steps. Step one, from NPR: Your kids have become a real problem for eco-progressives, unless they work for NPR: But there’s another way to help the climate. A recent study from Lund University in Sweden shows that the biggest way to reduce climate change is to have fewer children. “I knew this was a sensitive topic to bring up,” says study co-author Kimberly Nicholas on NPR’s Morning Edition. “Certainly it’s not my place as a scientist to dictate choices for other people. But I do think it is my place to do the analysis and report it fairly.” The study concludes that four high-impact ways to reduce CO2 gas emissions include having fewer children, living without a car, avoiding … Read entire article »
