Voters Not Too High on Trump-Putin Meeting

Following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Donald Trump said he looks forward to “very positive things happening” for the two nations. But U.S. voters are not so sure that will be the case for America.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 31% of Likely U.S. Voters feel the meeting between Trump and Putin is good for America, while slightly more (37%) think it’s bad for the country. Another 22% believe the first face-to-face meeting between Trump and Putin will have no impact on America. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 Likely U.S. Voters was conducted on July 6 and 9, 2017 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
