Faith Rises In Government As Protector Of Religious Rights

“In America, we don’t worship government—we worship God,” President Trump said Friday, reaffirming his administration’s promise to guard the religious liberties of Americans. Voters are nearly evenly split on whether the federal government is a protector of or threat to U.S. religious rights, but they are more inclined than in previous years to see it as a protector.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 39% Likely U.S. Voters view the federal government as a protector of Americans’ religious rights, while 38% percent see it as a threat. Twenty-four percent (24%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
