NFL’s Goodell: “Our Fans Expect Us” To Honor The Flag, All Players “Should Stand”

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell held a press conference Wednesday afternoon following the Fall League Meeting in New York with team owners. ROGER GOODELL, NFL COMMISSIONER: One other issue we spent a great deal of time talking about this morning was how much we believe [that] everyone should stand for the national anthem. It’s also an important part of our game, that we all take great pride in. And it’s also for us to honor our flag and our country, and we think our fans expect us to do that. And so that was something we continued to focus on this morning. But really talking a lot about with the opportunity that exists with our players to try to go and really make a difference in our communities in a positive way. They’re … Read entire article »

The Facts About Who Pays the Most in Taxes in America

Politicians exploit public ignorance. Few areas of public ignorance provide as many opportunities for political demagoguery as taxation. Today some politicians argue that the rich must pay their fair share and label the proposed changes in tax law as tax cuts for the rich. Let’s look at who pays what, with an eye toward attempting to answer this question: Are the rich paying their fair share? According to the latest IRS data, the payment of income taxes is as follows. The top 1 percent of income earners, those having an adjusted annual gross income of $480,930 or higher, pay about 39 percent of federal income taxes. That means about 892,000 Americans are stuck with paying 39 percent of all federal taxes. The top 10 percent of income earners, those having an adjusted gross income over … Read entire article »

Trump: Tax Reform ‘Will Lift Our People From Welfare to Work’

President Donald Trump promoted his tax reform plan at The Heritage Foundation’s President’s Club, and also touted American values, the Constitution, and “God-given rights.” “We will lift our people from welfare to work, from dependence to independence, and from poverty to total beautiful prosperity,” Trump told an audience of about 1,000 people Tuesday night gathered at the Marriott Marquis in Washington. “Our tax plan will ensure that companies stay in America, grow in America, and hire in America,” the president said. “At the heart of our plans is a tax cut for everyday working Americans.” The tax reform proposal backed by Trump and congressional Republicans would increase the deduction for child care and caring for elderly adults; make the first $12,000 for individuals and first $24,000 for married couples income tax-free; eliminate the … Read entire article »

Deduction for State and Local Taxes Stunts Economic Growth, Group Warns

Congress should get rid of federal taxpayers’ deduction for state and local income taxes because it ends up costing most taxpayers billions of dollars, an organization that advocates state-level reforms says in an open letter to lawmakers. Removing the deduction will save $1.5 trillion over the next 10 years, the American Legislative Exchange Council said in the letter, published Monday. “In a show of unity from across the nation,” ALEC said in a press release, more than 100 affiliated state legislators signed the open letter to Congress urging elimination of the state and local tax deduction and passage of “real tax reform.” “The legislators from 34 states represent millions of constituents from all corners of the country, including high-tax states such as Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota,” the group said. The open letter comes … Read entire article »

Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon called out Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) winless streak in 2017 on Tuesday evening and said the D.C. establishment is terrified of the economic nationalist movement that is gaining momentum from Alabama to Arizona and poised to send more of McConnell’s allies packing. … Read entire article »

New Report: GOP Tax Reform Could Boost Household Income by $4,000

A study released Monday by the president’s Council of Economic Advisers found that congressional Republicans’ tax reform framework would produce thousands of dollars in income growth for American households.   “Reducing the statutory federal corporate tax rate from 35 [percent] to 20 percent would … increase average household income in the United States by, very conservatively, $4,000 annually,” says the report from the advisory agency within the Executive Office of the President. Income increases could reach as much as $9,000, according to the report.   Using 2016 household income as the baseline, these effects translate into an increase in average household income from $83,143 in 2016 to between $87,520 and $92,222, an increase of $4,000 to $9,000 in wage and salary income alone. According to the nonprofit Tax Foundation, the U.S. “has the fourth-highest … Read entire article »

Bannon: The Populist Revolt Is Still Rolling Full Force

Steve Bannon speaks at the 2017 ‘Values Voters Summit’: STEVE BANNON: This populist-nationalist conservative revolt that is going on, that drove Donald Trump to victory, that will drive 15 candidates to victory in 2018, and I hate to break the news… to the folks at Vanity Fair. President Trump is not only going to finish this term, he is going to win with 400 electoral votes in 2020. Why is this a populist revolt? You guys have more common sense, more understanding of what we need to do. More understanding. And the first order of business is to undo all the damage of globalism, right? That allowed Silicon Valley, and Wall Street, and Hollywood, and the imperial capital right here in Washington D.C. and London and Beijing and Davos — the party … Read entire article »

Trump to Make Case for Tax Reform in Heritage Foundation Speech

President Donald Trump will speak Tuesday at an annual meeting of Heritage Foundation members in Washington. Trump is expected to promote his tax reform proposal, the top legislative priority for the White House. Trump and Republicans in Congress have made overhauling the tax code their focus for the remainder of 2017. Since August, Trump has delivered a series of speeches across the country touting the benefits of tax relief for middle-class Americans. Tuesday night’s address to a gathering of Heritage’s President’s Club will continue on that theme. It will be Trump’s first speech at an event held by The Heritage Foundation, which previously has hosted Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush. “The timing of this year’s speech couldn’t be better,” said Ed Feulner, founder and president of the leading … Read entire article »

What Would The U.S. Look Like if We Built it from Scratch? By Ted Rall

Imagine that there was another revolution. And that nothing big had changed. Demographics, power dynamics, culture, our economic system and political values were pretty much the same as they are now. If we Americans rolled up our sleeves and reimagined our political system from scratch, if we wrote up a brand-new constitution for 2017, what would a brand-spanking-new United States Version 2.0 look like today? … Read entire article »

Was Las Vegas Shooter Stephen Craig Paddock An Anti-Trump Activist With Ties To Antifa?

The mainstream media is trying to tell us that they have no idea why Stephen Craig Paddock fired “thousands of rounds of ammunition” into a crowd at a country music festival in Las Vegas on Sunday.  According to the latest reports, 58 people have died and more than 500 were injured in the attack, and somehow we are supposed to believe that this guy had no motive for doing this whatsoever.  I am not buying that, and I am sure you are not buying that either.  Could it be possible that the mainstream media is covering up the truth because it does not fit their narrative? As you will see below, there appears to be evidence that Stephen Craig Paddock was at an anti-Trump rally in Reno, Nevada in August.  And … Read entire article »

The Globalists Are Systematically Destroying America’s Middle Class

When people are dependent on the government they are much easier to control.  We are often told that we are not “compassionate” when we object to the endless expansion of government social programs, but that is not how the debate should be framed.  In America today, well over 100 million people receive money from the federal government each month, and the number of Americans that are truly financially independent is continually shrinking.  In fact, only … Read entire article »

Women’s March kicking patriarchy in crotch with Bernie Sanders as convention opener

Trump: Kaepernick Should Have Been Suspended For Kneeling, Would Have Never Done It Again

President Trump said if former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was suspended for kneeling he would have stopped and “you would never have had a problem.” From his interview with Sean Hannity on Wednesday night: PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: So I watched Colin Kaepernick and I thought it was terrible. And then it got bigger and bigger and started mushrooming. And frankly, the NFL should have suspended him for one game and he never would have done it again. They could have then suspended him for two games and they could have suspended him, if he did it a third time, for the season and you would never have had a problem.
