The torrent of new incriminating information against Joe Biden continues, even as his lackeys at the FBI and the Department of Justice continue to stonewall and protect him. The most incriminating new piece of evidence, which emerged on Thursday in a House Ways and Means Committee hearing, is a WhatsApp message from Hunter Biden to Chinese businessman and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) official Henry Zhao, dated July 30, 2017, in which Hunter puts the lie to his father’s oft-repeated claim that he knew nothing about Hunter Biden’s business dealings and was not involved:
“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”
This, from the man who just received a slap on the wrist from the FBI for illegal firearms possession and tax evasion, and who will serve no jail time for either of those offenses. Regarding his well-documented activities with high-paid prostitutes, which fall under sex trafficking, the FBI and DOJ have issued nary a peep, after years of supposed investigation. And now, we have the clearest evidence yet that Hunter Biden was cutting lucrative deals with the Chinese communists, for which he and his father, the vice president of the United States, were receiving millions in bribes. At this point, the evidence that Joe Biden, through the offices of his drug- and sex-addicted son Hunter, was taking bribes from adversarial foreign sources, including the Chinese, is overwhelming, and growing almost by the day. But where will it lead?
It’s pretty clear that Biden’s corrupt minions within the White House and the Department of Justice have already closed ranks around him, and will tender zero cooperation with what they regard to be a witch hunt by obsessed MAGA extremists in Congress. White House spokesman and National Security Council official John Kirby, asked on Friday by a reporter from the New York Post about the WhatsApp message and whether it undermined Biden’s claim that he had never discussed Hunter’s overseas business dealings with him, reply curtly, “No, and I’m not going to comment on that.” Kirby then upbraided the reporter for bringing it up before abruptly ending the press conference and stalking off.
That same day, Karine Jean-Pierre got angry at the same New York Post reporters for asking questions about the same issue. Asked directly whether she stood by her previous statements claiming that Biden was not involved in Hunter’s business dealings, Jean-Pierre snapped, “Nothing has changed,” before passing the buck to her “colleagues at the White House Council.”
Meanwhile, the FBI continues its blatant contempt of Congress and its oversight authority. Late last week it released more subpoenaed FD-1023 documents to Congress — documents that had been so heavily redacted as to be completely illegible. All of this, according to FBI director Christopher Wray, is in order to protect identities in an ongoing investigation.
Interestingly, Wray’s FBI followed a completely different standard in cooperating with the Democrat-controlled House January 6th investigative committee. To help that committee, the FBI was unstinting in releasing troves of documents concerning that investigation and many key players therein, including hundreds of hours of video of the event — video that, according to FBI whistleblowers’ testimony, the FBI was unable to release to its own field offices for regional investigative purposes, because it might compromise the security of sources. It has become blindingly obvious to all but the most willfully obtuse partisans that the FBI has one standard of investigation and confidentiality when working with, and in support of, Democrats and their left-wing allies, and a completely different one when working with Republicans, and against those whom they perceive to be their illicit right-wing enablers.
As a result, as Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor-Greene revealed to Fox’s Larry Kudlow on Friday evening, House GOP members have now begun an investigation of both Wray and Department of Justice head Merrick Garland, with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s blessing. McCarthy also told Taylor-Greene in a meeting that, if the investigations led to impeachment proceedings against those two men, so be it.
But what about “the big guy” himself? What are the prospects that Joe Biden could be impeached? Prior to Thursday’s dramatic reveal of the WhatsApp message, a majority of House GOP members were still queasy over the idea, claiming that the American people did not support it and that impeachment should not be embarked upon for frivolous ends. Now, as Taylor-Greene told Kudlow, the pendulum is starting to swing in the other direction. Taylor-Greene admitted that she has been “throwing a tantrum” about impeachment to draw attention to what she believes is a no-brainer at this point. Kudlow, by no means a MAGA right-winger, already seems to support the idea, as do many others at Fox News.
At this point, impeachment is looking more and more inevitable for Biden, even if the prospects that a single one of the rabidly partisan Democrats in either house would sign on are nil. But the evidence is beyond dispute that Biden was a willing participant in foreign influence-peddling, including to a regime that is America’s most dangerous foe, and was the beneficiary of millions in bribes for such activities while vice president. If those do not rise to the level of impeachable offenses, then nothing does.
