Demanding acts of genocide against the 2.3 million residents of Gaza is becoming more frequent within the ranks of Israel’s political and media leaders.
A member of the extremist Otzma Yehudit party has mentioned one of Israel’s potential actions in the Gaza conflict, which includes the use of a nuclear bomb on the Strip.
When asked during an interview with Radio Kol Berama whether he was proposing the use of a nuclear bomb in the region, Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu responded, ‘That’s one way.’
It’s important to note that Eliyahu, a member of Itamar Ben Gvir’s far-right party, does not have a role in the security cabinet responsible for wartime decision-making, nor does he have influence over the war cabinet managing the conflict with the Hamas terror group.
The point it highlights is the lack of empathy found in certain individuals within Israeli society, at the very least.
Eliyahu also expresses his opposition in the interview to the idea of permitting humanitarian assistance into Gaza, stating that “we wouldn’t hand the Nazis humanitarian aid,” and charging that “there is no such thing as uninvolved civilians in Gaza.”
He supports reclaiming the territory of the Strip and reestablishing the settlements there. When questioned about the future of the Palestinian population, saying “They can go to Ireland or deserts, the monsters in Gaza should find a solution by themselves.”
He claims that the northern part of the Strip should not have a legitimate existence and asserts that individuals displaying a Palestinian or Hamas flag “shouldn’t continue living on the face of the earth.”
Hamas responded with a statement, condemning the remarks of one Israeli minister regarding the possibility of using a nuclear bomb on Gaza, labeling it as an act of terrorism by the Israeli government against their people.
It’s worth noting that Eliyahu does not hold a position within the security cabinet responsible for Israel’s military decision-making in the conflict with Hamas and the Palestinian resistance. Therefore, his comments may carry limited weight within Israel’s security establishment.
Nonetheless, there is a troubling trend of some Israeli politicians, celebrities, and journalists making comments that generalize and suggest all Palestinians, including children, should face death as a consequence of Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7th, which resulted in the deaths of 1,400 Israeli civilians and soldiers.
During the attack on October 7th, some Israelis lost their lives at the hands of Hamas fighters, while others were casualties of Israeli forces attempting to prevent Hamas from taking them as captives to Gaza.
Israeli journalist Shimon Riklin expressed a view that called for the complete destruction of Gaza, questioning the need for nuclear capabilities.
“Gaza has to be wiped off from the face of the earth… Why exactly do we have an atomic bomb?”
Revital Gottlieb, a member of the Likud party and a Knesset member, made a statement urging severe military actions, including indiscriminate bombing and demolishing buildings in Gaza, without showing any mercy.
She emphasized that there should be no room for compassion this time:
“Bring down buildings!! Bomb without distinction!! Stop with this impotence. You have the ability. There is worldwide legitimacy! Flatten Gaza. Without mercy! This time, there is no room for mercy!”
Similar views were shared by other Israel high profile personalities:
“The world finally understands who the animals we are dealing with are… This allows the IDF to exact a much heavier price from Gaza. Not only from Hamas. Everyone who is celebrating now in Gaza – should cry. It’s that simple,”
Ofer Hadad, a journalist and TV anchor stated
“It’s an entire nation out there that is responsible. It’s not true this rhetoric about civilians not aware, not involved, it’s absolutely not true…”
Israeli President Isaac Herzog stated
“[I]f, in order to finally eliminate the military capabilities of Hamas, including [Hamas leaders] Sinwar and Deif, we need a million bodies, then let there be a million bodies,”
Roy Sharon, journalist stated
“Erase Gaza, don’t leave a single person there,”
Eyal Golan, a popular Israeli singer, stated
You can paraphrase it as follows:
To some extent, these perspectives help clarify why the Israeli military has been willing to conduct an extensive bombing operation in Gaza, resulting in a significant number of Palestinian civilian casualties, as described by Amnesty International as a ‘mass-scale’ event.
Holocaust scholar Raz Segal has characterized this as a ‘textbook case of genocide.’
In less than four weeks, Israel’s bombing campaign has led to the deaths of more than 9,500 Palestinians, among them 6,400 women and children.
In the meantime, Israel can save its nuclear arsenal, as its economic, medical, food, communication and energy blockades are already achieving their intended purpose, which is to cause severe harm to the entire Gaza population.
We are now looking at the most likely explanation for the historical migration and displacement of these Zionists throughout various regions in Europe and Asia.
