Transgender porn was the sixth most-viewed category in 2023 on Pornhub, according to a recent report from Pornhub Insights.
“They [MindGeek] try to push stuff that’s less and less accepted,” Rice said.
It jumped multiple spots as a category for both men and women viewers since last year, along with other LGBTQ+ content like lesbian, which was the most-viewed category in both 2022 and 2023.
This report was released just a week before an undercover video was posted by reporter Arden Young, which showed Aylo employees admitting the company is pushing LGBTQ+ content on its users. (READ MORE from Elyse Apel: Trudeau Lies)
“Let’s say you’re 12 years old, you’re still figuring out your sexuality, maybe even your gender,” said Dillon Rice, a senior script writer for Aylo. “Wouldn’t it be helpful to see, not a celebration, but just maybe a normalization of something that you think is what you want? Probably helps a lot.”
Aylo, formerly known as MindGeek, is the parent company for Pornhub, along with other adult video websites like TransAngels and Men.com, which both feature LGBTQ+ content.
Rice admitted Aylo is working to “push the envelope” with LGBTQ+ content, hoping to “convert” straight men.
“They [MindGeek] try to push stuff that’s less and less accepted,” Rice said. “Like putting a trans male or trans female in a scene, you wouldn’t get that on a normal mainstream site . . . See if you can convert somebody. Maybe somebody who’s never looked for anything like that might find it interesting and click on that.”
He also said they hope to bring the LGBTQ+ content “in to mainstream, vanilla content.”
Transgender porn affected all age demographics of viewers, according to the report from Pornhub.
“The only [interest] overlap in Gen Y, Gen X, and Boomers was the Transgender category,” said the report.
Boomers, or those 55+, were 58 percent more interested than all other ages in viewing transgender porn. (READ MORE: Canadian Taxpayers Forced to Fund Federal Employees’ Transgender Surgeries)
LGBTQ+ performers were also very popular for the second year in a row, with the “most searched male pornstars by women” all being “queer.”
