Two members of the leftist Squad in the U.S. House of Representatives took their extremist views to a new level yesterday when they said, without actually saying it, that they hope terrorists immigrate to the United States.
Democrats Cori Bush of Missouri and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan voted no on a bill that would prohibit Hamas terrorists from entering the country. Yet a third Democrat voted present.
Voting the right way would seem to have been a no-brainer, but, alas, brains don’t seem to have been of much use on this one.
The House passed three other immigration bills as well, though, as expected, most Democrats opposed them.
The Bill
Introduced by California Republican Tom McClintock, the No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act, H.R. 6679, is straightforward and tied to the October 7 terror strike on Israel.
“Any alien who carried out, participated in, planned, financed, afforded material support to, or otherwise facilitated any of the attacks against Israel initiated by Hamas beginning on October 7, 2023, is inadmissible,” the bill says. Further,
Any alien who carried out, participated in, planned, financed, afforded material support to, or otherwise facilitated any of the attacks against Israel initiated by Hamas beginning on October 7, 2023, shall be ineligible for any relief under the immigration laws.
The bill passed 422-2-1, with six members not voting.
Other Squad members, anti-American Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, voted against importing terrorists.
But not two of the angriest women in Congress, Bush and Tlaib.
A Palestinian, Tlaib called the measure one of “four hateful anti-immigrant bills.”
“H.R. 6679 is unnecessary because it is redundant with already existing federal law. It’s just another GOP messaging bill being used to incite anti-Arab, anti-Palestinian, and anti-Muslim hatred that makes communities like ours unsafe,” she said:
I made a promise to my residents when they sent me to Congress that I would take meaningful actions to end hateful Trump-era immigration policies, reunite families, welcome migrants and asylum seekers, and reform our immigration system. I reaffirm that commitment today, and will always speak truth to power in the face of disgusting attempts by my colleagues to dehumanize our immigrant neighbors.
Other Immigration Bills
The House also passed three other measures.
H.R. 6678, the Consequences for Social Security Fraud Act, also introduced by McClintock, would make any alien who commits Social Security or document fraud deportable and inadmissible.
That bill passed 272-155. The eight-member Squad stuck together on that one. All apparently believe that defrauding the government should not be grounds for deportation.
Omar’s vote is no surprise. She married her brother to commit immigration and student-loan fraud, and has been involved in campaign-finance shenanigans with her husband.
By a 274-150 vote, the House passed H.R. 6976, Alabama Republican Barry Moore’s Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act that would deport alien drunk drivers and make them inadmissible regardless of whether the offense is a misdemeanor or felony.
Once again, the Squad joined hands to protect drunk-driving immigrants.
Arizona Republican Juan Ciscomani’s Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act, H.R. 5585, which passed 271-154, tackles the increasing problem of illegal aliens who flee from the border patrol in automobiles.
If a fleeing illegal injures someone in a wreck, the penalty is 5 to 20 years in prison. Killing someone while fleeing gets a sentence of 10 years to life.
As well, illegals who flee from the Border Patrol will also be inadmissible, deportable, and ineligible to seek asylum.
And for the third time, the Squad voted to protect illegal aliens.
Gonzalez was killed when he crashed his ATV while chasing illegal aliens on December 9, 2022. The 38-year-old had two kids.
The other four members of the Squad are Jamaal Bowman of New York, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, Greg Casar of Texas, and Summer Lee of Pennsylvania.
Bush, Omar Troubles
Two Squad members landed in hot water this week. Bush was forced to confess that the Department of Justice is investigating her for using campaign funds to buy private security.
As The New American reported earlier this week, Bush, a “defund the police” extremist, has spent almost $750,000 on private security even as she would leave her constituents at the mercy of rapists, murderers, and drug dealers.
Some of that money went to her husband, a form of self-dealing. Other funds went to a fellow who thinks he is 109 trillion years old and can create tornadoes.
In the past, Bush has claimed she needs bodyguards because “white supremacists” who don’t want her “black body” in Congress have threatened to assassinate her.
Somali refugee Omar is accused of claiming she represents Somalis and Somalia in Congress.
“We Somalians must have the confidence in ourselves that we call … the shots in the U.S.,” one translation of her remarks has Omar saying:
We live in the U.S., pay taxes in the U.S., and have a real voice. The U.S. is a country where one of your daughters (myself) is in Congress to represent your interest. For as long as I am in the U.S. Congress, Somalia will never be in danger, its waters will not be stolen by Ethiopia or others. The U.S. would not dare to support anyone against Somalia to steal our land or oceans.
Sleep in comfort, knowing I am here to protect the interests of Somalia from inside the U.S. system.
Americans who know anything about Omar and the rest of the Squad don’t likely sleep in comfort.
