Biden Wastes More Than $200K on Voice Training for “Transgender Women” to Sound Feminine

In the latest installment of Your Tax Dollars at Work, Americans have learned that they coughed up more than $200,000 to help “trans women” — men who either pretend to be or falsely believe they are women — learn to speak with a feminine voice.

The National Institutes for Health delivered the grant to the University of Cincinnati for three professors, one of whom is “transgender.”

The grant is yet another move by federal authorities to normalize the abnormal and to make real that which is unreal — in this case, the nonexistent “transgender” man.

Software and App

“A transgender professor and two speech therapy experts have teamed up to create the software at the cost of $213,878 in taxpayer funds from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, an agency of the National Institutes of Health, according to documentation,” Fox News reported. Three professors will research the “problem” and how to fix it: The University of Cincinnati’s Vesna Novak and Victoria McKenna, and Tara McAllister of New York University.

“Transgender and gender diverse people exhibit a significantly lower quality of life than the general public,” averred the abstract of Improving the accessibility of transgender voice training with visual-acoustic biofeedback:

One reason for this is voice dysphoria: distress because a person’s voice does not match their gender identity (e.g., trans women with deep voices). Reducing this voice-gender incongruence can improve quality of life, but is difficult to achieve. It can be done with surgery, but the process is expensive and invasive.

Well, another reason a man’s voice “does not match their gender identity” is precisely because he is a man. Men have “deep voices.”

Anyway, the egghead troika continued, “gender-affirming voice and communication training” — acronym GAVT — could be delivered with “smartphone- or computer-based software that delivers information about voice, suggests exercises, and provides feedback on exercise performance.” But such apps “are limited in scope and not accepted by transgender people.”

The apps don’t give “visual-acoustic biofeedback: visual information about how the user’s voice ‘sounds’ and how this should be modified during exercises.”

Thus will the big money from U.S. taxpayers create “novel GAVT software [that] combines visual-acoustic biofeedback about pitch and resonance (two main indicators of voice femininity/masculinity) with exercises for these targets.”

Forty cross-dressing men will participate in the study to find out if the new software works. It will be “free” to ”transgenders.”

Except that taxpayers will have paid for it, which means it isn’t “free.”

“Some trans people can be negatively impacted if their voice is perceived as incongruous with their gender identity, and they may choose to work with a speech pathologist to achieve a vocal presentation that is comfortable for them,” McAllister explained:

In addition to the pitch of the voice, male and female vocal tracts also differ in their resonating characteristics, but resonance is harder to understand than pitch, and harder to target in therapy. The … software allows learners to visualize the resonant frequencies of the vocal tract, which could make it easier to adjust them to match a target that is appropriate for their personal speech goals.”

Of course, if the men would stop pretending to be women, they wouldn’t need “GAVT” to cure “voice dysphoria,”  another nonsense word from Woke Science.

Medicaid Pays for Voice Training

But grants from the federal government aren’t the only way that man-ladies can stick their manicured fingers into the taxpayer’s pocket.

Medicaid has paid for voice training since 2022, RealClearInvestigations observed. It pointed to a report from the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF).

“Transgender and nonbinary adults often face challenges and barriers to accessing needed health services and face worse health outcomes than their cisgender peers,” KFF reported, adopting the argot of “transgender” ideology.

Because “transgenders” are more likely than normal people to lack insurance, they have access to Medicaid because of Obamacare’s nondiscrimination provision, KFF continued. “Transgender”-obsessed President Joe Biden made sure the law was clear: they get Medicaid, and it can pay for voice training.

Continued KFF, which surveyed 41 states about whether they permit Medicaid to cover five “gender-affirming” care categories, one of which was voice training:

Thirteen of the 41 responding survey states report that they cover gender-affirming speech or voice therapy services, some requiring prior authorization. Ten of the survey states reported that they exclude coverage for gender-affirming voice therapy services, and 18 states responded that they have not addressed this coverage in their state policy.

“Trans” Propaganda Abroad

“Voice dysphoria” aside, Biden isn’t using tax money to promote “trans” ideology only at home. The State Department has spent a fortune to teach English to cross-dressing Pakistanis. The money went for “intensive professional development courses for Pakistani transgender youth from the ages of 13-25.” The program’s “goal” was to “Strengthen English capacity and professional capability” of the “transgenders.”

The administration spent $20,000 on drag-queen shows in Ecuador.

All these expenditures are in keeping with Biden’s goal to normalize “transgender” identity and support the “trans” movement’s propaganda:

• Biden hired a man who falsely believes he is a woman — Richard “Rachel” Levine — as the No. 2 health official.
• Biden hired a “nonbinary” bald sadist who enjoys “pup play” to help run the nation’s nuclear waste disposal program. He was fired after he was caught stealing luggage from airports.
• Biden hired a “transgender woman” to oversee the transition of the Defense Department, and OK’d transgenders in the military.
