University civics requirements which we hope a lot will do we’re also creating a program for teachers where if they go through our civics training they get a three thousand dollar bonus because i can sit here and my board of education can say you need to know the bill of
Rights you need to know the declaration of independence you need to know lincoln’s second inaugural and that’s all great but you got to have teachers that really understand it and have a passion for it so we’re trying to inculcate that throughout the state of florida it’s important for us to stand

In broward we got rid of the palm beach supervisor we ran 2020 successfully and then since then i’ve signed legislation to ban ballot harvesting ban unsolicited mail ballots and to ban zuckerbucks so we’re proud of that and then this next legislation we’re going to do even more
We’re going to raise the penalty for ballot harvesting uh we’re going to make sure that we have an election integrity unit in the department of state that can actually investigate and prosecute election fraud because some of the local law enforcement they just this isn’t their bailiwick because it only happens

Term limits for members of congress we have term limits in florida for a legislature what it does glenn is you get in you have eight years in the house and you can have eight years in the senate the senate terms are four years the house terms are two years but the
Leadership is only in for two years so if you’re going to be speaker of the house in florida you have two years it’s not going to be like pelosi where you try to make it your life’s vocation so you have two years and your incentive is not to get reelected your incentive is
To get things done and to leave a legacy and i think the the way we do it in florida is so much better than the way we do it in washington i think if we had term limits you would draw more people talented people who would want to run
For congress because they know they could make an impact as it stands now you get elected because of seniority and all these other things you may never have an opportunity to make a significant impact unless you serve 20 years so those are not good incentives
And so i think if you had something like that you would see changes but you’re right if people were socialized in this process in the 70s and in the 80s uh i’m not sure that they quite understand what time it is uh here in 2021 what does it
