And he’s pointing guns at people the police helicopter shows up because 9-1-1 has been called so he points his gun at the police helicopter then he goes inside this taco joint uh and and starts harassing people you see him jumping over there there’s actually a customer that’s going to run off he
Runs in behind the guy and is going to come in on the left-hand side now look at this couple down at the bottom where he has a gun in his hand again he’s been trying to rob a whole bunch of people and then he’s going to you know try to
Grab a hold of the man who won’t let him grabs a hold of the woman and points a gun at her head and her man is going to kind of grab her back from the guy now watch up here at the top as a phoenix pd officer is going to come in
Now we’ve got badge cam audio let’s listen yo yo got the gun it was munich yo got the gun as we see it on the surveillance camera see the officer come in here tell the guy to drop the gun take a couple shots there and then it’s a race to be
First at the corner the officer thankfully is first puts multiple shots in the guy they cleared the rest of the restaurant then offered him first aid it was not effective our perp took the restaurant temperature challenge no one else was harmed in this one and we get a lot of lessons to learn
Man you want to talk about a crazy one and these are my people phoenicians phoenicians you have the right and the ability to carry a firearm should have handled this one long before the officer got there let’s think about lessons for everybody my first lesson here is for all my
Phoenix peeps we live in a constitutional carry state there’s no reason for a good saint sober moral prudent person not to have a firearm on their person to be able to protect themselves these people faced a deadly threat and and just had to like let it pass no
That this should have been handled by these private citizens to put this guy down so that the police come to make a report not have to deal with all that they had now thank god they did and thank god for how professional they are notice everybody’s scrambling here this
Is why i want you to be a defender because again in that moment you have to defend yourself not somebody else and again this man and his wife who is here he comes in with a gun and now he’s pointing a gun all over the place at them
And is gonna try to take them hostage now if if our dude here wanted us to try to disarm the guy notice that our guy has gotten close enough that our our victim here could have practiced the 5ds plus one if he was knowledgeable if he had the attitude
Skills and plan to do so he clearly didn’t now you notice as well what he’s gonna do here is kind of paw at the guy’s gun and do nothing with it which is fine but now the guy’s got your wife with a gun to her head
In my opinion you to go here and this is again another admonition for me for good sane sober moral prudent private citizens to carry firearms to have the attitude skills and plan to protect themselves of course you know you have to deal with there’s an awful lot of things to think about
Here in terms of do you back up and draw a gun or do you dive in and try to get this guy’s gun away from him or whatever but letting him point a gun at the head of your loved one is about the worst outcome i can possibly think of
Now then as you know he’s threatening everyone and thankfully the officers finally are going to show up but still the threat is ongoing now i want to think about this officer here and and i don’t know how he can run so fast with his giant brass cajones but right here
You can see the perp who i have measured this shot here where he’s at it’s probably about 20 yards away give or take there’s a little bit give or take there but he only has an exposure on this guy for about a second second and a half and a 20 yard shot
In a real live environment in a second or a second and a half even with the gun in hand is a very spicy marksmanship challenge so i don’t blame this officer for not taking this shot even with a red dot equipped pistol i think that that would have been an
Incredibly high level of marksmanship so probably a good decision here to go nope i’ve got to get a shot that i know that i can hit so the officer decides to move in i think incredible courage to go no i’m gonna go get this guy’s pointing guns at
People and threatening the public and i’m gonna run in when everybody else is running out i also think this officer is a pro you see him getting over the fence here and you notice right here he has excellent trigger finger discipline now of course getting over the fence
I probably would have recommended and and preferred that he actually put the gun in the holster he should be able to get that gun in the holster back out of the holster very quickly when he gets over a fence or something like that but i get that he knows that
This guy’s armed and he’s going to need his firearm so so emotionally and psychologically he is very reticent to put the gun away but at the very least he has his trigger finger high and in register just be very careful here because you got to keep that firearm pointed
In the direction of least consequence so again i think great courage here for him and and his fellow officer to run in i just want to take a moment in this one to notice that this female officer is leading the pack on the way in and you know it’s one
Of the things that frustrates me on the channel sometimes is that people talk about female law enforcement officers like they can’t hack it and like they’re not good enough on the channel and we get a lot of misogyny like that on the channel and yet we see female cops like this leading
The charge going in risking life in limb to stop deadly threats to the public all the time and i think that both these officers deserve commendation for that takes a great deal of courage emotional fitness to go no i’m gonna move into this problem not away from it
And of course this officer that we’re watching his badge cam is absolutely stone cold what an incredible guy to come in see the problem and get the gun up now he issues him one last command here so he doesn’t see him shooting so he gets his gun up and says
Drop the effing gun okay fine i think had he pulled the trigger on this guy right here i wouldn’t have blamed him one iota for it given everything else that we have going on but it gives him every opportunity just recognize that now you’re in a
Skill contest so this is you know we might say well competition isn’t gunfighting but every gun fight is absolutely competition thank god this officer had the skill so he’s going to actually move to our left he’s going to put a shot close to him and now look at how close this is this
Is how close this fight is that our bad guy comes around the corner and he’s got his gun sweeping up when the officer gets a good enough shot on him and i think one of the things that we got to see is how fast do these gun fights go they
Are literally won and lost in tens of seconds which is why i say you want to have an incredibly high level of skill because you may need it on that day i think the second thing to see here is the fact that the bad guy is sucked way up against his cover
Where the officer has taken about a half step back from it we’ll see it in a better angle from the security footage and that better angle on his cover gave him a distinct advantage i think and is one of the reasons he won the fight got multiple shots on this guy and you
Can see right here i’ve stopped it because you can see that our perp still has his gun in his hand it is indeed a pink gun that he has out there but just because the color of it does not mean it’s any less a deadly threat and the officer did
An incredible job of ending that threat to himself and ending that threat to the general public did he shoot him multiple times you darn right he did because the guy was an absolute threat to everyone around kudos to this officer for for having the courage to do what he
Did now then i also want to note here notice that our perp gets his gun up as well when i said we had just literally split seconds this is what i mean so so to my office reviewers please train yourself to a much higher standard than your department qualification
Because it might save your life one day this officer clearly was more skilled than his department qualification required and it saved his life for sure next thing notice the fibs a factor and notice that that bullet went right through that wall and and i think that we are kind of
Psychologically pre-programmed not to shoot through walls not to shoot through concealment but if you know right where that guy is you might be able to put a good hit on him through that if you have to now i don’t think officer meant to in this particular case
I think he was expecting the guy to continue to move down the wall so that’s why he went that way now it’s a race to where they are and again i want you to notice here notice that our purpose really sucked up against his cover whereas the officers pushed back about a
Half step behind his cover which gave him a better angle and that better angle was really all the difference so when we talk about you know uh using cover and concealment effectively and backing off your cover a little bit to give you a little better angle with less exposure and better visibility
Of what is coming at you this is why we say and the officer did a really good job of that here and that’s why he got ahead two hands on the gun got after the guy enough and then got in close to him and ended the threat of course they you
Know cleared the rest of the building then came back tried to give the guy cpr tried to give the guy first aid of course wasn’t having it he was too full of lead so he took the restaurant temperature challenge i think that these officers are absolute pros i think that the officer in
