The bill as a as it’s gone along and um it just wasn’t right what they did he was supposed to be on the calendar this week they’ve since said they’re going to put it back on the calendar but just the thought of taking a rule taking a bill off the
Counter because somebody didn’t vote one way it’s just not right and the fight we had in January was to stop all this this type thing and secondly it’s still some lingering um I guess mistrust on leadership and what they’ve done with how the debt bill came
Up what we started with versus what we ended up with were two different things and that process is it’s over with now however we had talked to speaker McCarthy about really on the Appropriations is where he could weigh in and you know really exercise some influence to cut spending Economic
Securities National Security and we just don’t have it the bill that passed does little of nothing and particularly it was it was so different from what we had sent to the to the house and to for him to negotiate so there’s a lot of things
That came to a head and we’ll see what happens in the coming days interesting so you’re saying that there was essentially kind of a back room deal going on that certain things would be included certain things would not and some of that was hinging on whether or
Not you and others voted for this bill to block the bite administration’s ban on gas stoves and so it seems like you’re kind of uh looking at a level most Americans are not seeing within the political process and he said you’re standing against that what is that political process behind the scenes that
You’re standing against but it wasn’t a back room deal it was just you know when the bill came up and when and what happened to Andrew with his bill which is a perfectly good bill uh we just said enough’s enough they asked us to get to support things and I
Just we had just debated the same bill in the rules committee and then of course it passed and went to the house floor and you have to you know vote on the rule and for your listeners to vote on a rule it means it allows it to
Proceed forward to let the body vote on it and it doesn’t mean it’s dead it can come back up and it will come back up and you know I you know the uh you know what the Bible Administration is doing with gas stoves is not right so I agree
With the bill it’s just um it was everything kind of came together at one time and we just said we’ll we’ll slow this thing down and I think we’ll eventually come to a a conclusion so there’s nothing magic about this I mean in Washington everything moves slow
And let’s say we had voted on it yesterday I mean it would it takes time to get the bill up and out and to the Senate which is just going to sit so uh it’s not really a delay but it is something we felt strong about and again it came up spontaneously interesting
What kind of message do you hope comes across through your refusal to go kind of March in lockstep so to speak well what the leadership did what McCarthy did on the debt bill as an example they couldn’t pass it with with uh Republicans the original Bill had 218
Votes yet they passed the bill with more Democrats and if you had had been inside the chambers and saw the vote the board all of a sudden you know it was going down to defeat all of a sudden they got Democrats on board and so you basically had you know more Democrats supported
Than Republicans and we just should have been included in the process and there should be more debate rather than the way it came down was the all the Republicans got a call and said this is what we negotiated take it to leave it and so that’s kind of how it played out
And it shouldn’t play out we’ve got a four-seat majority we’re going to have a lot of issues coming up and they’re going to have to work leadership is not can’t sell on their own they’re gonna have to have some buy-in from from really from all of us not that we’re
Going to agree on everything but what took place with the debt bill was not right well on the note of the debt bill I remember house Speaker McCarthy when he first came into his position I was criticizing the you know bad spending coming down from the by Administration I

That we had all we had to get it done in the time limit we did with basically no no buy-in from what was a brand new bill what was totally different than what we originally sent over and what was just something that we felt like we should

Well what I’m doing in Congress is calling attention to it we had a press conference we had close to 17 to 18 house members that showed up and voiced their opinion this has got to come through Congress the Judgment of the Biden Administration is selling America out and we can’t let that happen
Anything any agreement he makes has got to come through Congress now he does everything by executive order and his actions is bankrupt in the country and we just cannot let him move forward on this now I think the meeting was set up for the last couple days of of May but
