hey welcome to Crossroads there’s a very complicated battle going on right now where Biden is invoking executive privilege to protect himself from having audio recordings released around the classified documents case while Trump is being denied executive privilege while facing in a classified documents case as well as other things and all of this is now coming to a head basically now look the Biden White House this is what happened they invoked executive privilege presidential protection to prevent the release of audio interviews with special counsel Robert her you might remember the special counsel in investigating Joe Biden and his family uh did in fact conclude that Biden knowingly committed crimes that he took home classified documents before he was president and that he did so basically in violation of the law but that Joe Biden should not stand trial because he is mentally unable to stand before a jury that was the special counsel now on this case Republicans in the house Judiciary Committee who have now voted to hold Merrick Garland of course you know uh the Attorney General Meritt Garland in contempt for blocking the release of these documents uh they want to get the audio recording because they’re saying well if Biden is incapable of standing before a jury we want to know why uh we want to hear what the audio recording actually sounds like currently they have the transcript but they want to hear well maybe things that were not included in the transcript let’s say and now the White House is using Biden’s powers of presidential protection to prevent the release of that Epic Times said this he said President Joe Biden has asserted executive privilege over the tapes of his two-day interview with special counsel Robert her in his probe of the president’s alleged mishandling of classified information and notes that the tapes the audio tapes are at the center of a dispute between House Republicans and attorney General Merrick Garland who has defied a subpoena for them and today faces contempt proceedings those have gone through by the way now Meritt Garland it says in May in May 15th in a letter to the president said that the committee’s needs are plainly insufficient to outweigh the Delirious effects that the production of the recordings would have on the integrity and effectiveness of similar law enforcement investigations in the future now it says that attorney general Carlos Filipe uh asked Republican leaders not to continue with the contempt proceedings he said it is the longstanding position of the executive branch held by administrations of both parties that an official who asserts the president’s claim of executive privilege cannot be held in contempt of congress and he wrote that of course to house oversight committee chairman James comr and house Judiciary chairman Jim Jordan in May 16th Now notes that President Biden’s Council accused House of Republicans of wanting the tapes for political purposes and this is where it’s all getting funny folks because frankly the Democrats kind of did all this to Trump and his associates and so this is what was warned about that as soon as you open the door to go after your political enemies as soon as they open the door to Target people legally to investigate people to hold them in contempt including for example um members of a political Administration like several of Trump’s Associates as soon as you start doing that you create a precedent whereby it is allowed to do that and so previous forms of decorum previous standards where they wouldn’t do these things were thrown to the Wayside now Republicans explain their reasoning for wanting the tapes let me show you what they had to say here’s representative vandrew explaining it watch cognitively impaired incompetent unable to stand trial even though he broke the law so the department of justice decides that they won’t go after him for those reasons and if that’s true we need to hear the audio tape you’re going to be able to understand if he truly is that cognitively impaired if he truly has those problems if he cannot deal with these issues if he didn’t know what he is doing we are going to learn a lot more and by the way if it’s no big deal as the other side says because we have the transcripts well we do have the transcripts so why do you care so much about us getting the audio now this raises some questions over what the audio recordings have that the transcripts do not have because of the transcripts were just let’s say uh the same exact just direct transcription of what the audio has there’d be no problem with it in fact I’d say that releasing the audio would actually probably make Biden look more innocent it would actually make things better for them uh it would mean that of course there’s nothing Beyond what’s in the transcripts and the whole thing would basically just fade to the Wayside and so it’s fair to question why are they making such a big deal about the audio what does the audio demonstrate that the transcripts do not and again the concern even outside of the main investigations even outside of the conclusion of the special Council right that Biden knowingly took home classified documents even aside from that there’s the big concern one that Biden well may not be mentally capable of you know maybe doing what he’s doing I know that he has of course said that the other side his polit his own political enemies maybe within his own party are trying to push him out he criticized them he criticized in fact the special Council of doing that for political reasons when of course they recommended or said that he knowingly violated crimes but then said he’s mentally incapable of standing before a jury but the other side of it even aside from the jury element and even aside from his mental capacity there’s also the issue of the classified documents themselves because remember Trump is facing similar charges right now Donald Trump in one of at least you know he’s facing several but in the case or on the classified documents he’s being accused of taking them home notably while he was still president and they’re looking into whether that was leg or not legal Biden’s classified documents case happened over the course of decades and not only that it happened before he was president suggesting that he would have less immunity than Trump does and that raises the question of why is Trump the one facing charges then and not Biden now the case is also bringing up some other comparisons you know on the point of contempt for example even outside of executive privilege for presidents this is talk about contempt they’re now going to hold Mar Garland in contempt the Attorney General right but they’re pointing as well to the fact that on the point of contempt some of Trump’s Associates are of course actually facing jail and one of them is actually in jail currently a former Trump Aid Peter Navaro is currently sitting in jail for contempt because he refused to appear before the Democrat Le January 6 committee something we now know had deep politicized issues uh that was altering evidence deleting evidence and actually had false testimony uh of course him deciding not to appear before him before them because of those concerns led him to even try to get an appeal and like early release he’s been denied early release another one Steve Banning the host of War Room another Trump a another former Trump a he’s also facing contempt charges he’s facing jail now if they’re able to put Trump’s Associates members of his you know Administration in prison then why is it that Republican can’t put maybe one of Biden’s uh members of the administration in prison as well that’s where this is going and again that was what was warned about open the door for charges like this once you start going after one side with contempt and you start holding these you know hearings and so on and I of course Congress the House of Representatives they can order people to appear before Congress and if they refuse they can throw them in prison normally you don’t do that you don’t abuse that power you don’t go after certain people uh for example when it’s against your main political enemies but that standard has now been discarded and now that the standard has been discarded you see Republicans using it against Democrats in a very similar way I think the only main difference of course would be that Democrats did not do that while Trump was in office they did it after he left office although to be honest they tried while he was in office you might remember like it’s not to say they didn’t try uh Republicans are doing this while while Biden is still in office and so this is acting administrative officials but then there’s also the issue of executive privilege itself which is well the bigger one on the table here the White House is invoking executive privilege while Biden’s main political rival Donald Trump is literally sitting in a Manhattan courtroom and other words the Supreme Court right now while they’re hearing this case is on Executive Privilege seeing whether Trump can actually be prosecuted Biden is using it one way and Trump’s having it done against him in another way again Donald J Trump the lead political candidate on the Republican side who should be campaigning right now is stuck in New York because he’s facing charges on what was a misdemeanor pass statute limitations that was expanded into more than two dozen felonies or close to two dozen now look of course Biden again is currently president of the United States Trump is the former president but there are real similarities in the cases again this is all about classified documents with Biden and with Biden as well you could argue that because this took place before he was president there’s the question of whether executive privilege would apply before you were president and remember the Supreme Court is looking at some of this as well because Trump is after he was President well if he commits crimes after leaving office then does he still have executive privilege in fact the case Cas he’s facing in New York right now was before he was president I thrw aside the idea of whether it was a misdemeanor expanded into multiple felonies or pass statute limitations and so on uh just the very issue that the crime itself was before he was president in the same regard Biden and Trump are facing accusations of crimes allegedly committed before they were presidents and how how will the Supreme Court view this because again Biden is invoking executive privilege on that now meanwhile Biden is allegedly planning an executive order that would limit the number of people illegally entering the United States to 4,000 people a allegedly saying hey you know what it’s getting out of hand time to reel it in and what he’s planning to do allegedly would just limit the number of people illegally entering the United States to 4,000 a day New York Post said that President Biden is planning an executive action that would allow him to shut down the US Mexico border I don’t that’s the right framing but they say that you know once the number of Migrant Crossings reaches 4,000 people a day a a source close to the White House told the post on Wednesday keep in mind folks like Peak numbers right now are like five you know 5,400 or 5,200 this is not much more than like actually just having a totally open border uh but that also raises the issue of what does he mean like he’s going to let 4,000 people in uh does that suggest then that they have the capability to shut down the Border if they’re going to again demonstrate that power after like they count the 4,000th person coming through if they have the power to actually close down the Border then why are they allowing it to be open for 4,000 people to walk through if they again as Biden has said previously right that he he can’t secure the Border because he needs money from Congress and Congress is not giving them the money for it he’s demonstrating the opposite here by showing that he does have the power to do it but that for some reason they want to allow a certain number of people to enter the us legally um I would say frankly this just corroborates what we’ve been reporting here that again the Border crisis is intentional uh this is a coordinated well orchestrated program it’s not by accident it’s not organic it is being run in conjunction with our government NOS in the United Nations but back to this report it says the order would match a provision in the bipartisan border bill that failed to pass in the senate in February which gave the president authority to expel migrants when border crossings reach the same daily average you know the legislative proposal would have given the homeland security secretary discretion Ary authority to carry out removals but have made the deportations mandatory when illegal entries surpassed 5,000 per day over a one-we period it notes the bill allowed for the suspension of that Authority two weeks after the 7-Day average Falls to 75% of those levels now briefly on that they noted of course that this is a continuation of the bipartison bill that was passed right um that’s important to note because it did not pass in the end and it is true that Republicans and Democrats initially signed on with it um there’s a question you could question whether they actually read the contents fully because if you read the contents it was pretty concerning which is notably why it didn’t pass in the end uh notably what it did was rather than actually stop the flow of illegal immigration it just further managed the Border crisis uh what it would have done is hired a bunch of new border agents who would have been in charge of processing people not deporting people and it would have given Alejandra maoris Department of Homeland Security secretary powers to kind of be the gatekeeper of who gets in and who doesn’t uh he could even Grant people amnesty basically on a whim and of course giving giving me orcus that power if you have amnesty look the people coming here right now are on the weight list for amnesty they’re not being granted it if you give them amnesty that’s borderline citizen ship that’s like that’s beyond a green card uh that gives them the ability to be here almost permanently that that’s a that’s a pretty big thing actually and so giving mayorcas that ability again somebody who was previously part of some of the NOS running the Border crisis uh he was actually with highest uh the fact that he would have that ability does raise some questions over how he would exercise that power the other side of it would be of course that they wanted not to deport people but instead to process people people and they wanted a cap on that they were saying like four 5,000 a day and so what Biden is doing with his executive order bypassing Congress is putting that number in place uh we’ll see in the end because this is just what they’re announcing they’re not yet doing it but they’re announcing they’re going to do it we’ll see whether the executive order actually contains the other parts of that initial bill because if it contains the other parts for example the powers for May orcus the additional people processing illegal aliens into the United States that’s a much bigger issue because that means that they will be institutionalizing uh the same thing that got blocked because of the concerns that were raised about it now look 4,000 people a day that’s still I mean if you do the math that’s over 1.4 million people a year that’s still a lot keep in mind that under Joe Biden’s Administration uh they brought in about 7.2 million people known that number is actually a bit dated now uh we don’t actually know the full number people note in addition to the 7.2 million uh there’s about two extra million of quote unquote Goda aways people who just bypass the thing entirely so the number is at least around 9.2 or 9 million uh some put it even higher than that given the rate of just error and the rate of you know frankly just people flooding across uh the number could be significantly higher in fact but then again that goes back to the 1.4 million again if Biden gets reelected that’s another 5.8 million illegal immigrants here as well who are just being essentially allowed in and it also raises that difficult question of why the government is involved frankly in letting people illegally enter the United States in the first place um is 4,000 too much is is one too much if the federal government is coordinating and facilitating a legal end entry to the United States then frankly what is our border uh what is the United States at that point it should not be noted as well the 4,000 also again does not include people who just choose to avoid the checkpoints like if they just choose to not go through the Border checkpoints how are they going to be counted uh because remember the Border crisis yes a big part of it is people literally walking across surrendering themselves to customs Border Protection and then being processed but there’s a lot of other people just entering through other meem currently right now a lot of the ones who are kind of Legally able to do that process they do that many of the ones you see taking fast boats to the you know shores of San Diego or sneaking through PE sneaking through the deserts and things like that those are the ones who know that they would be caught and probably deported uh and so typically those are your criminals those are people from countries where where they don’t actually have the ability to get get amnesty and the important part with that is they discard their IDs and their passports and so on anyways in order to defraud the system and so typically if they’re bypassing those checkpoints it means that they’re known they’re on the books and they know they would not be allowed in in other words that raises the big issue of actual criminals and so on entering the country uh but right now again the numbers we have are based on just Mass government facilitation No Cap there there’s no cap on those numbers if you put a cap on it are they just going to keep waiting in line or are they going to go elsewhere uh so we’ll see if that would even be a functioning you know solution to this quote unquote right on another Point as well it’s suggests that Biden could be looking to limit the issue of illegal immigration rather than to expand it uh it’s unclear how this is going to play out it’s possible this is just about the Optics ahead of the elections I mean we’ve discussed this before this is something that they’ve even done previously in cooperation with Mexico um they will actually tell me by Administration will talk to the Mexican Government and tell them to essentially restrict the number of people entering the United States because the Optics look bad uh Todd benman who we had on recently uh for our webinar actually and who was in the documentary he’s written previously about some of these operations uh he’s referred to them as ant operations NT like ant lines uh he noted that after the big incident where they found the thousands of Haitians under the bridge and the photos of that created international news they were saying hey thousands and thousands of Haitians are sitting under this bridge ready to enter the United States that was bad Optics they don’t want bad Optics so what did they start doing they started carrying on operations in Mexico to disperse people and then have them enter through multiple points of Entry rather than a single point of entry and so for the public for the Press people like myself when I go to the border to record what’s happening rather than record 5,000 people sitting under a bridge I’m recording a hundred people walking across a body of water water it’s a constant line but it’s not massive the imagery is not massive that’s a coordinated effort and they’re doing that of course in cooperation with the Mexican Government to prevent those types of bad Optics now when when it comes to this issue there’s the possibility Biden is doing this because the elections are coming up and interestingly the Border crisis issue is not resonating with Democrats or Republicans in fact uh close to close to 50% it’s like 48% of Democrats even want Mass deportations based on recent polling suggesting again as we talked about previously suggesting that the plan of having this become a strictly partisan issue has failed the policy of the relative open borders is not working with Democrats and so having the image of Mass open borders does not look good for them and for Biden of course having an executive order that would at least give them give the ability on paper to say that he’s trying to secure the Border uh would actually give him at least a talking point as especially going into debates with Trump saying that hey we’re working on the border crisis we’re trying to fix it arrests are up we we arrest 4,000 people a day right we arrest 4,000 a day yeah we let them into the country afterwards but hey we arrest him right um it’ll be helpful for him to have at least be at least be able to say something that’s the possibility the other big one right the other big question Still Remains though on whether Biden is going to Grant amnesty or give other certain programs to the illegal immigrants who are here uh because one of the big things conservatives are looking for is whether Biden gives them voting rights that that I think is the one of the top level concerns among conservatives uh there’s the concern that they’re flooding the country with illegal immigrants with the intent of giving them citizenship or amnesty and thereby giving them voting rights uh which of course we we based on the fact that they’re getting fed by one party and the other party wants to kick them out they’re probably going to vote for the party feeding them and of course if you had 7.2 million new voters that’s a pretty big deal right uh also on the point of illegal immigration Congress is starting to focus more on the NGS the non-governmental organizations that are part of the open border system which is something that of course we’ve covered extensively my new documentary
