Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Reuters in a interview yesterday that aid from Western allies was too slow, stating, “When we’re quick, they fall behind. And then there’s a gap — six, eight months of unpassed [aid] packages, and then two-three months of supplies — and a year goes by. We would like not to lose the advantage.”

Zelensky expressed gratitude to the western nations that have given over $380 billion in aid to Ukraine, but complained it was too slow, stating, “We are very grateful to our partners that they helping, but this is happening so slow, and every decision takes ages, we arrive at this decision later on but its like one year too late as I see this I am telling you as I believe it is.”

Despite the U.S. Congress and President Joe Biden sending $61 billion in foreign aid to Ukraine, Zelensky believes the “paradigm” needs to be changed, stating, “But it is what it is: one big step forward, but before that two steps back. So we need to change the paradigm a little bit.”

Zelensky also emphasized Ukraine’s need for Western F-16 aircraft, stating, “Russians are using 300 planes on the territory of Ukraine. We need at least 120, 130 planes to resist in the sky.”
