The Trump War Room published on X last week a video of Kamala Harris in 2007 proving that neither the Second Amendment nor the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution means anything to her. During a press conference in San Francisco with Gavin Newsom, who was mayor at the time, she baldly stated:
Just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn’t mean that we’re not going to walk into that home and check to see if you’re being responsible and safe in the way you conduct your affairs.
That was chilling enough, but then she added:
When we create laws, it’s not only about creating an opportunity, if you will, to prosecute someone for committing a crime, but more importantly, when we legislate our values, it’s about trying to encourage certain types of behavior.
This is the language of a would-be dictator. Her view is that the state is omnipotent, and that rights are merely privileges granted and then easily withdrawn by the government.
Speaking of those who have been convicted of gun violence, she continued:
We need to monitor where they live, have them check in from time to time and let us know where they are. Because when we’re starting to figure out who owned a gun or monitor their behavior … we need to know where they are.
Don’t be fooled into thinking that she has softened in her stance. She is still against Americans’ God-given rights, among them those to “keep and bear” arms and “be secure” in their possessions, guaranteed by the Second and Fourth Amendments.
Outrageous and Alarming
Alan Gottlieb, founder of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), expressed his alarm after viewing the video:
Taken at face value, [her] remark underscores our contention that she has been an anti-gun extremist throughout her political career.
Even more alarming, for someone who was a prosecuting attorney at the time, she would have known what she was describing would have been an egregious violation of the Fourth Amendment protection against warrantless searches and seizures.
But it simply demonstrates that the Bill of Rights means nothing to Kamala Harris if it stands in the way of her gun prohibition agenda.
What she was suggesting was, and remains, simply outrageous. It clearly shows the lengths and depths to which Harris would go in her personal war against the Second Amendment.
Gottlieb called out Harris’ attempt to ingratiate herself among gun owners by declaring that she and Tim Walz owned guns:
Harris claims she is a gun owner because it serves her political purpose. It’s not about whether she owns a gun. It’s clear she doesn’t want anyone else to have one.
Trying to Hide Her Real Agenda
Harris has trouble balancing her need for support from voters against exposing the agenda that would drive them away. During an event with the National Association of Black Journalists in Philadelphia, Tonya Mosley noted that handguns were used much more often than semiautomatic rifles (which Harris wants to ban) when committing gun violence. Mosley asked Harris what she would do about that. Her bizarre word-salad response reflected her attempt to maintain that delicate balance:
I also have been adamant for years — in fact I myself protested at a gun show probably 10, 15 years ago about the gun show loophole and why we need to close that….
We must take it seriously in every way, understanding it’s not just about a sound bite; it’s about a comprehensive approach that deals with the tragedy of, to your point, everyday gun violence in America.
When this didn’t satisfy the moderator, she pressed Harris further. Harris then bragged about how she and the Biden administration had passed more funding for mental-health professionals in public schools.
The Real Kamala Harris
The real Kamala Harris showed up in 2019 when she launched her failed attempt at the presidency. As we noted in July, according to Ballotpedia, her website included the following policy proposals:
If Congress fails to send comprehensive gun safety legislation to Harris’ desk within her first 100 days as president — including universal background checks, an assault weapons ban, and the repeal of the NRA’s corporate gun manufacturer and dealer immunity bill — she will take executive action to keep our kids and communities safe.
Ballotpedia listed some of the other proposals on her website:
Mandate near-universal background checks by requiring anyone who sells five or more guns per year to run a background check on all gun sales. Revoke the licenses of gun manufacturers and dealers that break the law and take the most egregious offenders to court—regardless of whether they’re protected by the Protection of [Lawful] Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA). Reverse President Trump’s dangerous change to the definition of “fugitive from justice,” which has allowed thousands of fugitives with outstanding arrest warrants to buy guns. Close the “boyfriend loophole” to prevent dating partners convicted of domestic violence from purchasing guns. Ban AR-15-style assault weapons from being imported into the United States. In addition to enacting universal background checks, renewing the assault weapons ban, and repealing the PLCAA, Harris will fight to make gun trafficking a federal crime, ban high capacity magazines, and prohibit those convicted of a federal hate crime from buying guns.
Make no mistake. The Harris seen on the hustings and whitewashed by the captured media is not the Harris lusting after the presidency. Confiscation of all privately owned firearms from law-abiding Americans is her No. 1 agenda. They remain the backstop against a communist takeover of the United States; Harris, as a Marxist, knows that only too well.
