I’m sure you all remember the type of coverage that Donald J Trump was getting for the last well eight years uh or longer uh you might remember the media was not very friendly towards him well the media interestingly they’re doing a bit of soul searching it seems and they’re looking at whether they misunderstand not just Trump but frankly why Americans like him uh because like him or not he just did win the popular vote it seems and a lot of news outlets are saying well do we misunderstand the American people does Trump understand something about them that we don’t now look this comes in the way of Donald Trump being declared again the winner of the 2024 presidential elections and now the 47th president elect of the United States now I’m curious what your thoughts are on the examination the media is doing looking at themselves and whether you think they’ve been biased let’s say uh or frankly you know tell me I’m curious what do you think they’re missing what do you think the media doesn’t understand cuz I’m curious about let’s dive in I’ll tell you what I think now first up on this soul searching the media is doing CNN said this they said Donald Trump’s return to power is a hinge point for the American Media I’d say Global media right but they say it’s in ways big small and to be determined his defeat of kamla Harris is Raising questions about the media’s credibility influence and audience some of the questions might not be answerable for years I’d argue otherwise I think it’s answerable immediately but maybe the answers cannot be accepted for years but they continue stating but journalists are asking each other what does this redwave elections say about the information environment in the United States right because look what you’ve seen is a discrepancy between polling and officials and news outlets which and news outlets tend to be the basis of political analysis and everything else and what almost the entire public seems to have gone the other way with obviously they’re missing something right now they know that in the hours after Trump won reelection Tuesday some of his loyalists asserted that his victory is a complete repudiation of the news media for a time of Wednesday morning the Federalist lead headline was not about trump it was about the corporate media industrial complex being 2024’s Biggest Loser and I agree to an extent they note that Legacy Media is officially dead the dailywire podcaster m was Matt Walsh wrote on X overnight and he said their ability to set the narrative has been destroyed Trump declared war on the media in 2016 tonight he vanquished them completely they will never be relevant again now a quote is it saying a recent new New York Magazine column channeled that question the quote from an anonymous TV executive was recirculated on social media Wednesday morning saying quote if half the country has decided that Trump is qualified to be president that means they’re not reading any of his media any of this media and we’ve lost this audience completely in the executive ads quote a trump victory means mainstream media is dead in its current form and the question is what does it look like after now look let’s go back in time this was already starting to be a topic leading up to the elections you might remember Washington Post in LA Times They decided to not endorse any candidate this time The Washington Post particularly had a very hard time with that right The Washington Post in particular they were facing criticism from their readers from within the company people were quitting uh it was a mess on the readers front a few days after they announced right that they would not endorse anybody they lost at least 250,000 subscribers that number represents about 10% of the post digital subscribers and it might have actually been bigger than that because we never got the complete numbers on it but it’s good to remember also we saw some similar soul searching back in the 2016 elections this was not a new thing news outlets were also very wrong about the election results back in 2016 polling suggested that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was going to win the elections by a landslide they said Trump had no chance some put Trump’s victory at like 2% they didn’t think he had any chance whatsoever time magazine had you know printed magazines ready to go of Hillary Clinton being named the new president of the United States and then when election day came and Trump won by quite a bit they were shocked he didn’t win the popular vote per se but he won the Electoral College by quite a bit and they wondered what did they get wrong why did they not understand the American people what did they miss right and you know initially they did a bit of soul searching initially they were saying you know maybe we need to reexamine ourselves a lot of outlets had things like that like you’re seeing now uh including actually New York Times which seems to be going the opposite way right now again but look what they did instead was that after briefly saying how did we get this so wrong they flipped the other way and they started blaming it not on themselves not saying we don’t understand people the problem is that people are being radicalized the problem is not that we’re wrong not that we got anything wrong the problem is that people are reading fake information and so they instead of realizing that maybe their content was not resonating with people tried to eliminating content that said something they didn’t want it to say anything that said anything other than their opinion other than their analysis they tried to destroy and you might remember right after that what happened they started going to YouTube to Facebook to Twitter to anything else that effort resulted in large scale program programs to discredit to cancel and to deplatform Independent journalists you had platforms Banning demonetizing people censoring people shadowbanning people closing down discussion pages online it wasn’t even just journalists it was even average Americans that were going after uh you know there were platforms even launching programs to censor individual users and we’ve seen that you know of course under the Biden Administration that the government itself even began getting involved in some of those efforts various corporate news outlets also launched so-called fact Checkers where they declared that anything other than their narratives were false and they even started reporter beats dedicated to doing hit pieces on Independent competitors New York Times for example does that they went the opposite way of doing soul searching they tried crushing all dissenting opinion believing that someh you just get rid of all other opinions then people will start agreeing with them that if you just censor everything that says anything other what they than what they say then what they say will become the new standard of information and it didn’t work it failed that entire effort blew up in their faces despite all that we’re now seeing that that large scale censorship effort did not change the way people voted it went the opposite way Trump won the won the it seems the popular vote this time they might have a super majority again in Congress it’s heading that way although we’ll see what happens with with the house they did not have the effect they thought they would have right and just has disconnected this time from more than half the country’s voters who just elected Trump as president these Outlets are in the same position as they were back in 2016 and maybe more so because they’ve realized now that not only do they not understand the American people but that this was not a question of people just reading information that goes against what they say this is not just a problem of lack of censorship this is a problem of them that they do not understand the people of this country and they do not seem to grasp what they’re getting wrong like the question this time will be whether new elots actually take a move to become more moderate and you know we’ll start seeing maybe less divisive political coverage if that happens uh they concern a lot of them have though is because the narrative among many of these individuals more on the farle like the woke types or the progressive types The Narrative they have is that they believe they have a social responsibility to force a narrative to force people to accept these things to force this kind of new wave of you know very far-left thinking onto people and they thought that if they did that people would accept it we’ve seen the opposite people have rejected it now of course with news outlets this is by no means an opinion being shown across the board plenty of Late Night show hosts uh you might have seen videos of them being very uh let’s say a little emotional uh when Trump won the election uh many are already floating narratives over what his administration will look like especially Republicans get a super majority in Congress and so a lot of them are kind of doubling down on their emotions and opinions and it’s suggesting that while some May making an effort to go towards the middle some are just doubling down on where they’re at now look in other news President Joe Biden though give a speech where he congratulated President elect Trump and he’s calling for a peaceful transfer of power and he’s also laying to rest the allegations of election fraud watch this the people vote and choose their own leaders and they do it peacefully and we’re in a democracy the will of the people always prevails yesterday I spoke with president-elect Trump to congratulate him on his victory and I assured him that I direct my entire Administration to work with his team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition that’s what the American people deserve something to hope we can do no matter who you voted for is see each other not as adversaries but his fellow Americans bring down the temperature I also hope we can later arest the question about the Integrity of the American electoral system it is honest it is fair and it is transparent and it can be trusted win or [Music] lose now of course it’s still possible we could see some reforms to voting laws uh we may also see some investigations into the election systems meaning that while Biden and others are seeming to say that you know there’s no election fraud this time look Trump won I think Trump of course being the victim of many lawsuits over the 2016 election or the 2020 elections Trump being the target of a lot of that especially in Georgia where they still have that ongoing uh the January 6 Narrative of course Being Framed you know remember that was in response to allegations of election fraud a lot of the ongoing massive lawsuits against a lot of conservative influencers a lot of the massive lawsuits at lot of people have faced uh over again the 2020 elections you would argue that a lot of people have been let’s say uh whether whether you want to say it’s victimized or faced Justice whichever side you believe based on a lot of these allegations uh it does make sense that Trump will want to launch an investigation to finally clear the waters and say hey there was fraud or hey there was not fraud the problem you’re going to see with that is that if the election system sys are in fact exposed to have been rigged back in 2020 that won’t just be a us issue that’ll be a global issue and that would also mean that every elected official who came to power through those systems will very likely have to face a review and possible further investigation and if it is found that they came to power through that whether knowingly or not uh this could create a situation where people could go to jail people will be very uh the average citizen will be probably enraged over it and this will very likely be a global phenomenon in Canada in Europe all throughout Latin America in any country that use similar systems to what the US is using any country that uses these things all the election systems that were under question uh if Trump does launch investigations in which he says he will uh you know again we’ll see whether it holds up or not but this will have a global uh Global impact uh it does seem Trump is talking about investigating it though but again the fact that he did win the election for some people suggest that maybe it’s not as bad as they thought at least that’s a Biden saying right but back to the transfer of power former president Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama they also came out with similar statements on the election look at this this is Barack Obama in a statement with Michelle Obama he said quote over the last few weeks and through election day millions of Americans cast their votes not just for president but for leaders at every level right house and Congress as well now the results are in and we want to congratulate president Trump and Senator Vance on their Victory this is obviously not the outcome we had hoped for this is Obama remember he said given our profound disagreements with the Republican ticket on a whole host of issues but living in a democracy iea Republic is about recognizing that our points of view won’t always win out and being willing to accept the peaceful transfer of power uh it seems a lot of them notably are pointing to the peaceful transfer of power suggesting again they’re not going to contest the election uh they’re saying they’re not at least interestingly there was also a similar statement from defense secretary Lloyd Austin Epic Times said secretary defense Lloyd Austin said the Pentagon will engage in an orderly transition to the incoming administration of president-elect Donald Trump and that the military won’t be involved in any policies and he said quote as it always has the US military will stand ready to carry out the policy choices of its next commanderin-chief and to obey all lawful orders from its civilian chain of command he said in the memo on Wednesday now again this is interesting we may actually see a calm and peaceful transfer of power with Donald J Trump becoming president of the United States yet again uh this will be something we haven’t seen in a long time uh you might remember 2016 2020 uh we had a very contentious very difficult transfer of power in this country with the elections it does not look like that will be the case this time it looks like based on what we’re seeing at the very least from the top levels of government that there will not be contests to the outcome of the election now that does not mean that Trump is not going to maybe investigate some of these individuals after the election as he’s been saying he will but it does seem to be the case that they’re trying to cool the waters and make things a little more peaceful now all a sudden now the state levels though there’s signs things are a little bit different uh there are signs that states and governors and so on are a little less supportive of trump let’s say Epic Times said this California governor Gavin Newsome on Thursday announced that he is calling for State lawmakers to convene a special session later this year after president-elect Donald Trump’s Victory earlier this week and it said newsum said the special session will focus on safeguarding the state’s Progressive policies around the climate abortion and illegal immigration meaning they want to keep the whole climate agenda in place they want to make sure that they have abortion Trump’s not going after state level abortion what the Supreme Court did when they got rid of Ro Wade was they made it so it’s a state decision so this is California anyways and also on illegal immigration but that’s going to be a big one for California because if Trump creates measures from the the federal government begins deporting all the illegal immigrants as he says he will states are going to try to block it states are going to try to stop that from happening and California looks at the taking moves to stop it from happening he said this quote the freedoms we hold dear in California are under attack and we won’t sit idle newsum said in a statement he said quote California has fa this challenge before and we know how to respond we are prepared and we will do everything necessary to ensure Californians and illegal immigrants have these support and resources they need to thrive he said it says in a news released from the governor’s office it listed abortion immigration protection the climate crisis and LGBT issues they removed Q as matters that the special session should address now on this folks uh it looks like things seem to be clear for Trump to be inaugurated as president that looks like it’s going to happen with very little push back um it looks like there is going to be a peaceful transfer of power that does not mean the political debates in this country are coming to an end we can expect to see push back on his policies once he’s in office and also the debate between state rights and the federal government is going to be an issue again remember when when Biden was president that was also a debate a lot of Republican states were pushing back against his policies and the argument of state rights and government overreach in you know infringing a on the rights of States if you talked about that you were considered an extremist if you talked about state rights and government overreach you were regarded as an extremist now the tables have flipped and it’s the blue States doing that against the Trump Administration or future Trump Administration they’re probably not going to be deemed as extremists but uh but it’s the same thing right uh whoever is in power be Becomes Of course kind of the body that the other side opposes so here we are yet again now in addition to this and I’ll be talking more about this as things develop because a lot is happening right now folks Trump isn’t even in office yet but here’s what’s been happening he’s not even in office yet here’s what’s been happening immediately after he gets elected Hamas the terrorist group they suddenly come out and they’re now calling for an immediate end to the war with Israel the iran-backed houthis the ones that were like launching rockets at ship and ballistic missiles and everything else they’re now calling for a ceasefire and the spokesperson say came out and said you know okay no more violence uh by the way we did all this in defense uh this was purely defense and we’re not going to do it anymore the houthi just backed down the Iran the Iranian currency just crashed Iran’s currency just fell to an all-time low and Russia came out now saying that they want a peaceful deal with Ukraine and Russian president Vlad Putin actually came out he congratulated Trump on his victory he talked about how masculine Trump is for dodging the bullets during the assassination attempt I’m not joking he actually talked about that and he’s now saying he’s ready for a dialogue with Trump now look this is again just the very start this is the beginning not the end I’ll be giving updates and all this as things move forward because a lot of stuff’s happening right now all of the sudden it’s just happened you know immediately now look politically and with news outlets there’s also the question of whether there’s this disconnect between what pollsters and strategists thought mattered and what voters actually care about what the election also showed was not just political rhetoric and you know opinion on whether you like one person over the other the big issue is what issues do Americans care about right do you feel like the issues you care about are actually being covered by the media well I’m curious uh do you feel the news outlets you read and watch or saying what you believe or not or maybe the ones you choose not to watch is it because they don’t talk about the things you care about uh let me know I’m curious look we’ll be back in less than a minute though we’re going to of the biggest issues now politically and with news outlets is whether there’s a disconnect between what pollsters and strategists believe mattered and what voters actually care about right because you can talk of course about the rhetoric and about the attacks and whether people actually car about name calling and everything else right this kind of outrage culture we saw and whether they believed that people would vote based just on outrage or hate some people did by the way the other issue though is issues uh what policies actually matter what do people actually think about these things are the issues that have been pushed the ones people actually care about right now just one example of the apparent disconnect with voters one of the big ones was with the new demographics have voted for Trump Latino voters in particular have been a very big part of this and this suggests of course that maybe the identity politics push does not resonate with people as much as they thought it did Epic Times said this US Census Bureau to show about 97% of the country’s population is Hispanic or Latino right and notes that the sorry one of these counties that voted right it says the county has not backed a Republican presidential candidate since 1892 this is one of one of the areas in southern Texas and according to the Cook political report on this it notes that star County which is a population of around 66,000 people went to democratic candidates in recent elections Hillary Clinton Won star County 79 % of the vote against Trump in 2016 while President Joe Biden had 52% to Trump’s 47% in 2020 meaning they’ve been slowly losing that County on the Democrat side and know that aside from Star County most other Texas counties located along the US Mexico border went in favor of trump that includes Hidalgo County a key illegal border crossing area as well as Cameron County which encompasses the city of Brownsville according to AP projections now I know it’s a voting day to show that the only only the Texas border counties of El Paso and procedo went in favor of Vice President KL Harris over Trump during Tuesday’s election suggesting again even in very Hispanic neighborhoods Trump was winning many of them and it wasn’t just in Texas we saw that this was a national shift you know Florida had another key area like this Miami Dat New York Times said Miami dat used to be where Democrats ran up their numbers turning out liberal voters many of whom had moved there from New York City and elsewhere in the Northeast Hillary Clinton won the county by 30 percentage points in 2016 a huge Victory technically right but as Florida it says has transformed from a Battleground State into one that votes more reliably more reliably Republican remember it used to be again a swing state Miami dat 2 has changed Hispanics they say who had appeared to be leaning Democratic in the 2008 and 2012 elections started shifting right in 2020 President Biden won the county by seven points not a big margin on Tuesday it says Mr Trump defeated vice president kamla Harris becoming the first Republican uh Republican presidential candidate to win Miami Dade since George HW Bush in 1988 prior to a lot of the mass illegal immigration prior to a lot of the demographic shift of New Yorkers going there and everything else right and notes that Mr Trump also won Florida according the Associated Press he was on track to win both Miami dad County and Florida overall by double digits now this is despite Trump’s policies talking about issues right which are set to be very much against illegal immigrants and suggest Latino voters are not as into illegal immigration as a lot of the Legacy news outlets and pundits believe they did a lot of them do not want Mass illegal immigration many of them say see that it’s taking their jobs away I know know people who work in construction I know people who are independent contractors or have businesses who say they can’t compete anymore on prices because illegal immigrants undercut them because they cut corners on the jobs they cut corners on buying materials and they undercut them when they go and bid on projects they can’t compete with them the illegal immigrants are putting people out of work who are blue collar workers and so for a lot of people who work normal jobs they can’t compete with mass lead immigration and this is causing not just their jobs to become more difficult not just reducing the amount they can make on jobs but it’s also reducing the quality of the work and it’s making it so that the housing prices are going up because there’s more competition for it and it’s making crime go up because anytime you have a large influx of individuals well especially they’re not being properly vetted you tend to have gangs come in as well they’re dealing with this this is their own backyards now look this is also something we’re seen passed in legislation now Arizona you know one example of this Epic Times said this proposition 314 a statutory Amendment referred by the Arizona legislature prohibits illegal immigrants from entering the state directly from a foreign country at any location other than a lawful Port of Entry Arizona has now followed the Texas law effectively Banning a legal immigration Now notes the law effectively empowers Arizona law enforcement officers to arest illegal immigrants it also bars illegal immigrants from knowingly submitting false documents to apply for public benefits or a job and makes it a class two felony for an adult to knowingly sell fenel that later causes the death of another person you sell drugs you kill Americans you get a felony right and it’s a proposition needed only a simple majority to pass and coasted to Victory with 63% of the vote its success comes as Arizona as effect become ground zero for the nation’s border crisis now again keep in mind Texas and Arizona have now both adopted laws like this California is going the other way they’re they’re doubling down on mass illegal immigration and open drug laws and light on crime laws just in general right but look a lot of these takes I hear personally as well like I get out on the street a lot I talk to people a lot I travel a lot I’ve been around Arizona quite a bit you’ve seen me report there quite a bit I’ve been in Texas a lot over the past several years and I’ve spoken with a lot of people including a lot of Latino voters uh you know take Georgia actually another case of this one lady I talked to in Georgia said she was voting for Trump she was a Latina you know she was Latina lady and she said you know she gets questioned why she would vote for Trump as Latina she mentioned that she did not like the free handouts being given to illegal immigrants and she believed in working hard hard she had her daughter with there too her first time voting and her daughter also voted for Trump she didn’t want to say it on camera but you have the you have this right I’ve heard these sentiments echoed by people living near the border you know when I was in Eagle Pass in Texas before a lot of the people I talked to told me that the local Latino population does not like the new illegal immigrants coming in uh the the perception that I was told why the what I was told was this in Eagle Pass the illegal immigrants cannot wander around there they load them up on buses immediately and get them out because the locals there are hostile towards them Eagle Pass is deeply Latino they do not like the illegal immigrants because the new ones they view them as quote unquote jumping the line for a lot of them what I was told you know they’ve been in the country they’ve been working here for years A lot of them get green cards they come here they’re trying to get citizenship and they’ve been at it for a very long time a lot of them have family members who are in that situation some of them are American citizens they’re trying to get their Uncle to come over or their aunt to come over or their brother to come over and it’s a long process and so when they’re going through the process and then they you know not just for them but for their families as well and they see 10,000 people come across not wanting to work hard like they did or their grandparents did not wanting to you know wait in the line or do things properly like they’ve been trying for years but just walking across and demanding everything you know being handed to them walking across jumping the line and pushing them and their families further back in the line and they’re offended by it they’re mad about it and these people are not going to be voting for those Mass immigration policies because of this this is what I was told by the actual voters in these count in these counties this is what I was told by these individuals now I also heard a lot of the citizens who are Latino in those areas they don’t like their towns being overrun by illegal immigrants either because they bring in crime and they bring in drugs and they also cause the housing prices to go up and they compete for the jobs that they need and their kids need it is not something they support and again when it comes to the you know to when you when you look at politics from the top level rather than from the granular level you miss details like this when we talk about the Ivory Tower right the the uh The Latte liberals I guess you could call them right the people who go to these fancy Ivy League colleges and just make assumptions about what everybody thinks they don’t talk to these people they don’t get to these areas they’re sitting out in you know Northern California or you know in New York and they’re just making guesses that oh well obviously you know these people must support these because that’s their people and they view everything through racial lens not everybody cares that much about race identity politics do not capture the average individual that’s like your you know communist college kid narrative the average person does not care about that stuff now look another big group that shifted towards Trump was actually gen Z and this is something big as well that’s voters aged 18 to 29 and look although Harris still won the demographic as a whole Trump’s shift toward a lot of these people really took people by surprise Epic Times said this president Donald Trump has won greater support from nearly all demographic groups but perhaps the most consequential one has been gen Z voters aged 18 to 29 although the majority of young voters still turned out for his Democratic opponent vice president kamla Harris Trump managed to greatly increase his success with this stratum garnering 46% of its vote compared with 36% in 2020 according to AP vote cast a national poll conducted by the national opinion research center before and on Election Day you know that Harris tried to appeal to young voters including by granting an interview with the call her daddy podcast which focuses on young women’s issues including relationships and advice but her approach did not appear to resonate enough what galvanized the electorate RIT large was the economy young people have not been spared the throws of inflation watching the income diminish in real terms since the Biden Harris Administration took office and again you saw this right now when people think gen Z you might think they’re kids they’re not kids anymore right they’re they’re much they’re they’re you’re working demographic now and you know young people turning conservative that’s a big deal uh it used to be the case that if you were like 16 to like 25 you were almost definitely at least a liberal uh you know I had a stage of that too I like graduated from high school I was I was I was on the left for a while you know know what I mean uh you have a lot of people like that a lot of young people think like that young people turning conservative that’s a new shift not something we’ve seen in a very long time now like a lot of this comes down to what I would call miscalculation and maybe a lot of people are calling it that miscalculation in the polling miscalculation in the media responding to the polling believing that they have everything right because the polls say what they want to say and of course politicians and pundits and you know analysts basing everything they say off the media that’s looking at everything through this Ivory Tower perspective thinking that everybody else is stupid and that they understand the voters better better than anyone a lot of them think they grasp it but they’re doing this with a deep misunderstanding of what the average person actually thinks what the average person actually cares about and that’s what we just saw the narrative on the left did not seem to resonate as much with voters as many of the political strategists seem to believe it would now huge shift in our country folks uh again we’re watching just the beginning of it we’ll see what happens from here frankly uh but I will be keeping you updated as things move forward and that said let’s jump into some questions let’s see Idaho rocks you’re saying fake news can only be effective when censorship blocks the truth you know this was actually something I was thinking about a couple things on this right um yeah folks also if you have questions or comments leave them in the chat try to get to them so uh we’re you know I’m watching the live chat right now uh you’re saying that fake news can only affect can only be effective when censorship blocks the truth totally true there’s two sides to this I was thinking about on one side is your opinion is your opinion actually solid if it can only be maintained by censoring every body who opposes it I don’t think so uh if your belief cannot withstand scrutiny it’s probably not a very solid belief if your political opinions cannot withstand criticism it’s probably not very strong now we’ve seen um a lot of people in this country be victims of massive scrutiny massive criticism attacks every name you can think of legal attacks the whole nine yards and they’ve withstood it what does that say about those individuals you have one side of the political Spectrum now that has withstood just massive amounts of attacks uh scrutiny censorship legal attacks the whole nine yards and that has not changed their opinion uh I’d say actually it’s gone the opposite way we see that those attacks have had an opposite effect what’s going to happen now if the media stop censoring people and it’s been it’s been shocking because you see some individuals talking about doubling down on censorship if you watched some of these roundt discussions that came out after the elections you had some people saying well the problem is uh that people are too racist and they’re reading racist things on X and it’s all the fault of again online social media and people being being able to have discussions that that’s the narrative a lot of people are coming out with the irony is that there’s two sides to it when you when you attack somebody and the other person attacks you back it’s usually two parties involved it’s not one-sided uh for a lot of conservatives even though you find some that are that do have views that are a bit hateful right just being honest not all of them but you do have some um they oftentimes become the focus of it but what’s left out of the picture is that a lot of the people on the left are very hateful a lot of them very aggressively attack anybody who has different opinions from them and for a lot of people on the other side of political spectrum they see both sides of it even people in the middle just watching this they see both sides they don’t think that one side is just absolutely peaceful and fighting for this Kumbaya you know save the world thing and the other side is a bunch of villainous Nazis they don’t see it that way they see that one side is vicious and the other side probably has issues too but they see both sides of it now censoring people is not going to resolve that censoring people just looks even more like one side is trying to crush silence the other it’s not going to fix things and I think that until you have this is this is my take on censorship right um I go back to the founding fathers and what was talked about with why we have freedom of speech it goes back to the marketplace of ideas that within a free market things that are able to function things that can stand on their own two feet are able to survive within an environment of Freedom if you have to manipulate the markets to make a product work it’s probably not a very good product if you have to force people to buy a product they probably don’t want it right and it’s probably not going to be able to you know function and sell and actually be maintained as a business once you stop forcing it on people uh you can’t create a business through coercion it doesn’t work that way and it’s the same thing with ideas you can’t force people to believe things you can’t force your opinions on people uh you can’t shove it down their throats and expect them to choke it down and say thank you afterwards it’s not the way debate works and unfortunately that’s what’s been happening in this country uh for years now with the censorship complex uh for the last eight years we’re independent journalists and content creators and average Americans trying to have conversations with their friends on like on the Internet or just in person have faced huge amounts of censorship uh we’re seeing now that all those efforts did not actually change people’s opinions if anything they had the opposite effect and changed people’s opinions in the opposite direction um the other side of it too is I’d say that for a lot of these individuals it’s going to be interesting because you know watching the soul searching in the news outlets the reality with a lot of news right now is that you’re not really seeing news you’re seeing advocacy a lot of the journalists in the major news outlets are no longer just telling you the news they’re no longer trying to give just decent analysis they’re trying to push their own agendas and they say this publicly they believe they have a you know a like a a goal in life where they have to force you to believe their race narratives they have to force you to believe their gender narratives they have to force you to believe their you know social narratives uh their world narratives the global warming narratives like everything they feel they have to force it on you and when people oppose it they don’t debate when people oppose it they try to censor them they collude with you know big tech companies where they try to get them to platformed they go to again the advertisers and try to get individuals who oppose their views demonetized they go and collude with different political agencies and try to get People cancelled as we saw happen for example in the Twitter files and the Facebook files and all the books that were open and showed us what happened there was collusion on a large scale to censor Americans because there are individuals trying to force their beliefs on others and what they can’t stand is people not agreeing with them and so rather than engaging in proper debate they’ve tried to silence and attack anybody who thinks differently again the question now is will they back off of that and it’s going to be hard for them to back off of it because what’s going to happen people don’t want what they’re selling like that that’s what it comes down to some some do fine let them have it but a lot of them don’t and you’re not going to force people to buy something if the systems of coercion are removed from that equation what happens the business trying to sell something people do not want what happens to it the business that sells a product people don’t want that has been maintained through coercion is going to fail it is going to go out of business as soon as the system of coercion is removed that is what a lot of the media is facing right now that’s what a lot of these big tech companies are facing right now that’s what a lot of people are reading right now they’re writing on that wall and they’re just starting to process they’re realizing that the benefits they had that allowed them to do what they were doing have now been swiped out from under them and they’re realizing they are sitting on a sinking ship they’re realizing that they are in a failing business model and they’re realizing that unless they can capture the average person yet again and restore some of that trust that they’re done that’s the realization setting in right now and personally I’m a big fan of free speech I think one of the most fundamental rights people have is the right to be heard and as you know I try to give equal weight to all reasonable voices you know what I mean let’s see here Jeremy Barker no matter who’s in power most Americans vote with their wallet they vote their wallet and family first Democrat leaders forgot that yeah full on and remember that’s what I’ve been saying too that you know the Democrats were talking about economy they were uh they were talking about the stock market and uh you know the dollar and yes there’s been inflation but if you look at the world system right now a lot of countries are doing worse than America uh the US dollar despite all its problems uh is still the most solid and so they talking about that they’re talking about the top the top level remember I keep saying the difference between the top level and the actual Gran granular view the granular view was this great stocks are up the big corporations are making out like Bandits because during covid what happened well they were essential businesses they could all stay open your mom and pop shop they had to close down people lost their businesses people lost their jobs and of course for the average person we’re not seeing the benefits of more employment no we’re seeing uh more competition for employment because you just let in like 10 million illegal immigrants who were getting hired you expanded the government great those jobs go to people with college degrees and people with college degrees tend to vote more Democrat frankly for conservative Americans blue collar workers your your normal workingclass Americans they did not feel the benefits of the economy they did not feel the benefits of the stock markets going up they did not see the benefits of the rising job numbers because those jobs were not them they did not experience that and so this is why you need to you need to understand the top level narratives F you know fine I I again I’m talking about the stock market and so on but you need to talk to people and find out what the granular experience is and that’s where things are are being broken right now the granular experience and why people don’t feel they’re Ben benefiting from these things that’s the problem right and yeah it’s true people care about their families too actually a lot of for a lot of women now look this is the other side of the whole you know women voter debate based on a lot of moms I’ve talked to based on a lot of Voters I’ve talked to if you talk to Democrat voters a lot of the women say they’re voting based on body rights meaning abortion right uh that’s their biggest issue for for a lot of uh Democrat women abortion is number one for a lot of conservative women they’re worried about their kids and their kids education and what they view is like indoctrination in the schools they’re worried about their kids coming home and saying hey uh you had to call me Sally now you know sorry Dad you know what I mean they’re they’re worried about that kind of stuff uh they’re worried about their kids getting irreversible surgeries and that they’re being pushed out they feel that the autonomy of their own families is being undermined mind that you know the the government has more authority over the kids than they do uh they feel that their rights are being taken away on this front and for a lot of them they’re really concerned about that uh you know they have these kind of Mama Bear conservative groups and and that’s their biggest issue these kinds of things uh you know they’re they’re fighting for their children and you and that and that’s that’s the two sides of this but again you can talk about that because a lot of the establishment media and a lot of the pundits women who are concerned about that they attack them right they say oh they’re transphobic they’re not they’re not afraid of trans people they’re worried about their kids getting indoctrinated and going through irreversible surgeries that they’re not part of the conversation on they’re worried about their children being harmed it’s not that they hate people or something like that and and that’s where the the miscommunication is you see uh that’s where the framing is and again just attacking people is not going to change them attacking people is going to make them think attacking them and they they feel they’re being targeted legally and stuff and that’s why you have people pushing back so hard on that uh that is the problem people’s voices not being heard and people being attacked for even expressing their opinions uh I’ve talked to a lot of people on both sides of this so you know I i’ I’ve seen it firsthand right yeah I see people talking about homeschooling I I homeschool my daughter actually um you know she’s 14 now I I I love homeschool they have a lot of especially actually after covid because you had a lot of people who had to teach their kids at home and a lot of Americans saw the kind of stuff that kids were learning um homeschool now if you can do it in your state uh it’s fantastic because there’s so many online resources for it and there’s so many like online curriculums for it like you you can build really good uh really good classes for your kids and if you get you know outside things like you know rooc or martial arts or Sports uh you know you can have the social environment too and I think it’s actually stronger in some cases because at schools these days they can’t really they’re so tightly regulated kids don’t have the type of interaction they used to anymore you know anyways uh frankly uh s blanken ship you’re saying many Democrats crossed over and voted for Trump because they went too far left and the economy manufacturing has been shedding jobs for months my son is in Engineering in three plants he worked in Cut staff yeah you know funny story actually when I was a kid I wanted to be an engineer like that was my dream job um my dad he’s he’s kind of like a renaissance man he’s had tons of job he’s he just teaches himself things so he does he’s done restaurants and businesses and um you know he’s worked of course and he does construction and everything like that but when I was a kid he worked at uh he worked in aerospace engineering uh it was a company called tadine Ryan uh and you know me as a kid I got to go visit him like you know the Air Force company kind of it was awesome and you know they’re building they built some of the first drones uh in fact my dad was involved on the first the the project to build the first drones funny story actually the first drone had two different color eyes uh and the real story of that is because my dad was one of the guys who painted him and one eye was my brother’s eye and one eye was my eye uh it was the uh it was The Argus program at Tedy Ryan which after Ted and Ryan they didn’t go fully out of business but you know they lost a lot of jobs and then the pro the stuff was sold off to like other defense contractors and so on other defense companies but you know as a kid I I wanted to be an engineer actually uh but you’re noting you know a lot of Democrats crossed over and voted because they went too far left in the economy manufact shedding jobs for months well and again that goes down to the average person’s experience now look a lot of people even if they believe in social issues even if they believe hey yeah fine I don’t agree with this policy or that policy may maybe they don’t agree with mass illegal immigration but they don’t want to see people deported either right a lot of th this is one of the things that’s also missing from the debate there’s a lot of people in the middle there there’s a lot of middleof the road people who don’t want to see either extreme and sometimes they agree a bit with both sides it’s not one extreme or the other there are plenty of people who on abortion and you know I personally oppose abortion but there are a lot of people who say okay I don’t want to see it totally banned but I don’t want to see like full-term abortions either like they they want a middle ground uh with for example Mass illegal immigration there’s some who say okay uh I don’t like it but I don’t want to see all them deported either there are PE there are a lot of people in the middle right so for a lot of people when they’re looking at the policies there might be things they disagree with and when the media is talking about extremes they might be like yeah I I agree with you actually but you know what matters to me is is this because what matters to people despite that despite the things that they might have kind of views on both sides with they look at their own well-being that’s what they’re looking at they’re looking at their own well-being and I think very few people even if they agree with everything they’re not going to vote to lose their job they’re not going to vote to go bankrupt they’re not going to vote to say okay yeah I agree with global warming uh so much that I want to make it so I can’t afford a house for the foreseeable future no they’re going to vote for you know their their own well-being and for their own families for a lot of people even if they agree with other things you know you got to you got to have food on your table first before you start worrying about putting food on everybody else’s table you got to get your own home in order a bit right uh and again that I think that’s why for many people it does come down to the foundations economy jobs and not doing things that are going to further undermine that you know and that’s the way a lot of people voted a lot of people are not on one side or the other uh a lot of people are in the middle and they’re voting for personal interest and that’s not bad thing all the time you know what I mean you know another anecdote I I know we have a lot of questions but I want to talk about one more thing you know I was reading Anne Rand um I was reading Atlas Shrugged and she has an interesting concept because she talks about selfishness and selfishness is being one of the backbones of productivity and you know for me it’s like I I don’t regard myself as as a very selfish person person I tend to think a lot about other people and so I think socially we tend to really reject that somebody just doing things for their own interest right it’s like we think it’s like sociopathy and stuff like oh you you probably have issues but she makes an interesting argument that people caring about their own interest is what makes them work hard people caring about their own well-being is what makes them work hard people caring about their own families is what makes them get off their butt in the morning and get out of their nice warm bed and go Brave the cold or the heat and go work for you know eight or 10 hours a day or however long it is they don’t do that because they want to do it they like because they want to go slave around like that they do it because it’s going to benefit them somehow right there there’s self-interest involved uh one of the big lines from Atlas Shrug is you know you have this guy who’s building this whole kind of train system right and they keep being like why do you care so much why why do you care so much about fighting for this why do you care so much about trying to build this huge infrastructure in this big Corporation you have everything you need why do you care and the answer always is because it’s mine personal ownership creates a sense of responsibility this is mine I identify with this I want to make this succeed uh you know that that element of it and I I don’t know if I’d even call it selfishness um it’s it’s it’s a caring about yourself that does not mean you don’t care about the interest of other people also right because I I think selfishness tends to go in that direction where you you actually don’t care about the the welfare of others right it doesn’t mean you don’t it doesn’t mean you don’t care about them but the idea of self-preservation and self-interest actually is too an extent important people who don’t have any of that they might not do anything with their lives they might not be productive members of society uh because and and this is one of the problems that Ann ran would argue that communism and socialism create is when you remove the element of self-interest out from productive you know jobs and whatever else people don’t care about doing a good job they don’t care about making a quality product they don’t care about building a successful business they don’t care about trying to work more than the more than the minimum number of hours they have to put in because why would they care it’s not theirs why would they care uh you see this a lot from people who come from communist countries where someone dumps trash in the stairwell of their apartment and they don’t clean it up they’re like it’s not my job it’s it’s the city’s job it’s the landlord’s job it’s somebody else’s job they don’t have any kind of uh they don’t have any kind of self-interest in doing it there’s no there’s no responsibility in it because they don’t think it’s theirs this is not my responsibility this is not my job this is not me and so they don’t take responsibility for it the removing of ownership and personal ownership is what creates that problem and so that going going back to this very long roundabout back to personal interest in voting it’s the same thing it’s the same thing thing there’s personal interest and self you know interest to an extent in politics and that’s not always a bad thing it’s not it doesn’t mean people are like selfish or they hate other people or whatever else it’s that people take ownership over themselves and they want government to respect that you know when it comes down to it that’s what it is uh you could argue the same thing with the project of mass you know Mass deportations it’s self-interest frankly and again that’s not always a bad thing uh bo ban you’re saying the Immigrant population are the ones who had all these illegals flooding their neighborhoods they got most of the foreign gang members so crime also increased that’s true and that’s also one of the things that got missed in a lot of the debates because again the Ivory Tower a lot of these you know latte liberals from you know fancy colleges working at the news outlets you know those types of people right who their lives have been very good for a lot of them frankly right they if you look again at a lot of the people on that side it’s people with very good college degrees people who went to very fancy colleges people whose life experience is actually kind of wealthy and cozy right those people don’t understand what’s happening in some of the neighborhoods that are facing the policies that they think are are compassionate a lot of the people in these communities I’ll give you an example um my mom I don’t I don’t talk about my family a lot so my mom she I I have a I have two brothers and one sister my younger brother my youngest brother is severely handicapped uh he has a very rare mental disorder uh called Kabuki syndrome it’s so rare they almost they don’t even really bother studying it actually uh it’s super rare and B basically he’s going to be like he’s 5 years old for the rest of his life you know he’s in his 30s my mom has to take care of him and so she you know it’s her job basically she gets paid by the California state to do it um and so you know her her her job is to take care of my younger brother uh you know she has to bathe him and feed him and you know he’s in his mind he’s like four or five years old you know um I mean on that note he’s a happy dude he’s probably happier than most people I know uh sometimes I look at him and I’m like man where can I get some of that you know like he he doesn’t stress out about anything we stress out about but you know before that my mom had all kinds of odd jobs uh one of her jobs was working at a middle school and she was the lunch lady and she was telling me what was happening at her at her school she was working at uh when they started having Mass illegal immigration and you know I think this I think this was like I I can’t remember the year I’m pretty sure it was was like second it was like the late Obama years or early Trump years when we started having these migrant Caravans come in right and they had the they had the uh in California of course they had the sanctuary city laws a lot of the illegal immigrants were getting sent to my mom’s area those areas already had a lot of problems with gangs they were already having gang problems and so uh when they started having gang problems what happened well the school had to have security they had to have security they had to have like metal detectors and that kind of thing when they started getting all the illegal immigrants though they no longer had the budget for security uh because and and and for a lot of things what this is what happened um a lot of kids came in and they were speaking all kinds of languages you had kids you know Mexico is not all Spanish you go further down they speak like they speak like old languages like Aztec and stuff right they speak like old languages and so you had them coming in you had kids from Guatemala coming in you had kids from like other countries coming in and so the schools had to compensate or accommodate all of that they had to make huge English as second language classes and because a lot of kids are coming from countries with different education systems than America you have kids who you know who by American Standard should be in you know let’s say seniors but their education level is like Middle School right their their education is not the same you had kids who were totally illiterate who were in high school and you know you can’t just put them in high school programs so the schools have to accommodate all of that they have to create special programs for this kid and that kid and that kid and what does that mean that means their budget their budget got eaten up and so they had to start getting rid of all the things that keep kids out of trouble they had to get rid of security they had to get rid of sports programs they have to get rid of all this other stuff now when you talk about you know caring about the kids great when we talk about compassion great yeah hey uh I would love to see all the people in the world living by American Standards right I I’m I love this country that’d be one of the greatest things ever uh but it’s not compassionate what they’re doing to these neighborhoods the experience at the granul level was this the experience at the granular level was people having their kids in school and suddenly the schools had massive gang problems the experience with these kids was that suddenly they couldn’t have their Sports programs or their after school programs because the budgets got eaten up by mass illegal immigration that was the experience um and so you know that that did have a huge impact is uh you know boyan notes at the granular level that’s what happened right uh folks I’m saying uh we have sound issues dang it I’m really sorry about that it’s like robotic sound geez um all right folks anyways I think we’ll call it for now I don’t know what’s going on we’ll have to double check the sound and find out what happened I apologize but thank you so much for being here folks enjoy your weekend I’ll see you again on Monday 10:30 a.m. eastern time and as always thank you so much for being here and please take care of yourselves stay informed and stay free thank you [Music] [Applause]
