Socialism in America

Socialism in the United States began with utopian communities in the early 19th century. Labor activists, usually British, German, or Jewish immigrants, founded the Socialist Labor Party of America in 1877. Is socialism haunting America, especially among our millennials? There is evidence many young Americans’ have sympathy for socialism. A large majority of millennials have a favorable opinion of socialism after being taught for 8 years under common core and throughout our universities under the Obama administration that socialism is a great concept. All the time forgetting all the history to the contrary. There were millions of deaths under socialism and communism of their own citizens under the Mao communist Chinese and Stalin communist Russian regimes. But these atrocities have been attempted to be erased from history by much of academia. They no-longer is socialism hidden since the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) now boasts 30,000 members, most of them in their twenties and eager to follow the socialist banner and many are in the United States Congress today.
