Under the guise of protecting the “civil rights” of students, the Biden administration unveiled a new regulation purporting to force government schools nationwide to bow before all the invented “gender identities” and sexual perversions that now dominate the “education” system. The rule would also purport to overturn state laws banning males in girls’ sports.
The controversial mandate, which would apply to any government schools accepting federal funds, seeks to demolish Trump-era protections for girls — especially their privacy, sports, and ability to have sex-segregated spaces. If it ends up going through, government schools would supposedly be required to allow males in girls’ school bathrooms, locker rooms, showers, and sports.
In a statement cited by Politico, the administration painted the measure as a tool to combat sex discrimination. “The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to ensuring all students are guaranteed an educational environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex,” argued a spokesman for the U.S. Department of Education
The rule “strengthens protections for students from sexual harassment and for LGBTQI+ students,” the spokesman continued. By “protections,” the administration is referring to protecting males pretending to be females as they invade girls’ spaces. Such policies have already resulted in outrages including rapes and more.
The federal scheme to override state and local policies on the issue was first proposed by the Biden administration in 2022. It was part of an effort to undo the Trump administration’s policies that upended schemes by Obama to impose LGBT extremism on government schools by executive decree. It is expected to be implemented starting in March, according to news reports.
The measure involves a reinterpretation of Title IX, a 1972 statute originally designed to protect women and girls from sexual harassment and discrimination. Under the new interpretation, the Biden administration will enshrine all manner of sexual orientations (homosexual, bisexual, polyamorous, and more) and potentially infinite “gender identities” such as transgender, gender queer, non-binary, and more.
Under the measure, analysts at the Child Protection League said schools will also become “zones of gender indoctrination,” perpetrators falsely accused of newly redefined “sex discrimination” will face “Societ-style disciplinary procedures,” free speech is set to be curtailed, pronoun mandates will be enforced, males will be allowed to ruin girls’ sports, children will be able to “change gender” without informing parents.
Critics sounded the alarm. “Consider some potential effects,” warned William Trachman, former deputy assistant secretary for civil rights in the Trump administration. “Students who insist they are neither male nor female might demand that a university build a separate dormitory for each unique gender identity, in addition to the male and female dormitories that are already established, to ensure ‘equal’ access for all. Some students who identify as gender-fluid might insist on moving back and forth between facilities.”
“Yet it could get even more onerous for schools trying to comply with federal law,” continued Trachman , who serves as general counsel for Mountain States Legal Foundation. “Unless the new Title IX rule clearly defines the outer boundaries of what a ‘gender identity’ is, schools will be confounded with strange requests from students who insist they are animals, autigender (that’s a neurodevelopmental gender), or even cake.”
A coalition of almost 20 state attorneys general has already vowed to fight the scheme “with every available tool in our arsenal.” “The proposed rule defies Title IX’s text, history, and purpose,” they wrote in a letter to the Department of Education. “It disregards five decades of evidence showing the benefits of applying the traditional definition of biological sex in sports. It ignores basic considerations of privacy and dignity. And it fails to meet the Department’s duty to analyze costs and benefits.”
Separately, a coalition of dozens of high-profile groups are urging the Republican-controlled House of Representatives to defund the scheme. Blasting the Biden administration’s plan, the 68 organizations in the Title IX Network said lawmakers must stop the “sweeping transformation of America’s schools, families, and even the meaning of the Constitution.”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently lambasted the administration for its scheme. “They are trying to impose this under administrative rule,” he said on X, noting that the measure would seek to overturn protections for women, girls, and all children adopted in the Sunshine State. “They don’t have the authority to do it. And in Florida, we will not abide by it.”
Conservatives and Christians have been playing defense in trying to stem the horrors being inflicted on children in “public education” from the start. Despite occasionally slowing the wickedness, the fact that the debate is now about castrating boys without parental consent and having males naked with girls in the shower shows what a failure the strategy has been. Only an exodus from government schools will protect children.
