Is there any daylight between admitted communists and Democrats? The New American compared the platforms of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) with the positions of the Democratic Party.
The first issue mentioned on communist’s 2024 platform is one near and near to Democrats, one of the few that Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris hasn’t publicly backtracked on. The communists declare: “We oppose the Supreme Court decision and support having Congress and the President codify Roe v. Wade into law to restore a national right to choose.”
This is the exact position of the Democratic Party. Last week, Harris said during an interview with Wisconsin Public Radio that she believes the filibuster should be eliminated so abortion can be codified into federal law. This sentiment has been expressed numerous times by various members of the Democratic Party, including President Joe Biden.
Communists also advocate for government takeover of healthcare. “We believe that healthcare is a right,” CPUSA says. “We need a Medicare-for-all healthcare system that is free to all Americans.”
During her failed 2020 presidential bid, Harris endorsed a Medicare for All bill introduced by admitted socialist Bernie Sanders. Democrats, of course, also passed ObamaCare, which further increased government participation in healthcare while making private healthcare more unaffordable. It’s no secret that Democrats believe in complete government control of healthcare, despite what Harris, who has recently flipped on nearly every major position she has long held, says now.
The “climate crisis” is a topic communists and Democrats screech equally loudly about.
“Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, affecting every aspect of the environment and human life,” CPUSA says. “We need urgent economic, legislative, and regulatory changes focused on climate action — net-zero emissions and renewable energy, green jobs, social equity, modern infrastructure, and ending our dependence on fossil fuels.”
Here is how the 2024 Democratic Party platform talks about climate change:
“Across the country, Americans experience the dire impacts of climate change…. The climate crisis is an existential threat to future generations who deserve better. President Biden is delivering on the most aggressive climate agenda in history.”
The only difference is one is calling for action, the other is bragging about what it’s already done. Democrats are ahead of the communists.
Democrats and communists are also in harmony in their support of mob rule.
In 2020, The Washington Post asked all the Democratic presidential primary candidates if they supported eliminating the Electoral College and replacing it with a national popular vote. A majority of them, 15 out of 26, said yes, with an additional three, Kamala Harris included, answering they were open to the idea.
Democrats and communists advocate “democracy,” or majority rule, especially when it comes to elections. “It is imperative that a new universal federal election law and process be put into place to guarantee free and fair elections — one person, one vote,” CPUSA says.
Both also support statehood for Washington, D.C., mail-in voting, and ending the filibuster completely.
When it comes to mass migration, there is no difference between the two. The communists call for “progressive legislation that creates a path to citizenship for as many people as quickly as possible.” It also “demands that the U.S. stop its current cruel arrests and deportations” while providing “easy access to U.S. citizenship and oppose guest worker programs.”
As with on every issue except abortion, Harris recently flipped on her open-border stance. Nevertheless, Democrats have for decades ferociously advocated for amnesty, and Harris most likely is taking a politically expedient position that she doesn’t intend to carry out as president. The New York Times noticed this stark turnaround out in a September 27 article titled “Harris, at the Border, Shows Democrats’ Hard-Line Evolution on Immigration.”
“Just one presidential cycle ago, Ms. Harris and most other candidates in the party’s primary race had promised to decriminalize illegal border crossings. Ms. Harris’s remarks on Friday in the border town of Douglas, Ariz., laid out a vision that makes clear that her party — and the nation — continue to back away from the long-held American promise of protection to desperate people fleeing poverty and violence abroad no matter how they enter the United States,” The Times reported.
The communists and Democrats are both obsessed with raising taxes. The CPUSA platform calls for raising the top corporate tax rate from 21 percent to 90 percent, a far cry from the 28 percent Harris is publicly proposing, but they both agree in principle on raising the tax rate. Moreover, the heart of the issue is that Democrats and communists have always agreed on taking more from producers and transferring it to the leeches running the State. They are both ardent believers in market interference. They both claim tax hikes would only affect “the rich,” while the reality is that the middle class bears the brunt of such disastrous economic policies.
Speaking of destructive fiscal policies, CPUSA’s platform advocates for a $25 federal minimum wage, similar but not identical to past efforts by Democratic lawmakers to raise it to $15 an hour. In California, a recent minimum-wage increase led to the immediate closing of several restaurants. That’s what’s in store for the rest of America if Democrats get their way.
There appears to be very little difference between the Democratic Party and the Communist Party USA. Those who’ve been saying the former has been taken over by the latter have a strong case. Moreover, before their blatant alignment on policy, the two parties were already strongly ideologically aligned. Both have long believed in the supremacy of the State in all matters. Both are led by people who believe rights are derived from government and not God. Both believe “the ends justify the means,” even if violence is involved. Both believe in exerting federal control over law enforcement. And both bring mayhem, poverty, and destruction of the human spirit wherever people allow them to take hold.
