when you received this email from your IRS supervisor after Hunter Biden’s guilty plea thank you for your commitment to the mission which culminated in a great conviction those are words that are not supported by the actions of the agency what you’re saying is that within the IRS there is disperate treatment of American taxpayers what what they call is sensitive investigations but sensitive investigation sounds like code for powerful Elite people there’s a list in the internal revenue manual that says what a sense person is and it’s exactly that there was no question in your mind the big guy was Joe Biden we corroborated that the big guy was Joe Biden yes we knew that the the laptop was real doj knew that the laptop was real FBI knew the laptop was real there were a lot of overt investigative steps that we were not allowed to take because we had an upcoming election when we were doing the interviews that the the prosecutors specifically told us that they didn’t want to ask about the big guy because they knew it was Joe Biden you came forward as whistleblowers your information was accurate that you’re sitting here today with us alleging that you’ve been punished every step of the way by the government bureaucracy IRS is just have a has a smothering blanket on me hoping that I quit that they find some way to terminate me or commit suicide or something and I’m up against a a machine that has millions of dollars that has the ability to fight me people have to have confidence Justice is going to be administered fairly regardless of who you are Catherine harage thank you so much for joining us your latest story up on Katherine herd reports.com reveals that federal law enforcement agencies knew the hunter Biden laptop story was real and yet they pumped the breakes on an investigation tell us a little bit about this massive massive scoop well one of the things that struck me with the IRS whistleblowers is that you dial it back four years ago and everyone was labeling the hunter Biden laptop as a Russian plant but what the whistleblowers told us is that in late 2019 everyone on that investigative team so the IRS the FBI justice department prosecutors they all knew that Hunter Hunter Biden’s laptop was real and really from that point forward um the IRS justice department they were tapping the breakes on this investigation and they were blocked from taking very standard over investig ative steps like issuing subpoenas and they were completely blocked from investigating anything that might have led to Joe Biden but they said you could not ask about the big guy who was doing the pumping of the breaks like lay lay out the the because they people are going to hear this and think this is a conspiracy like we told a lot of conspiracies aren’t true this really sounds like one who were the the people that came forward that we just saw in that clip Katherine that you have reported on these whistleblowers who like where where was the word coming down from right so the two whistleblowers are Gary shapley he was the supervisory special agent on the hunter Biden case and then Joseph Ziggler he was uh the Line agent or the case agent he was really doing all the footwork in the case and he was one the one that found the lead that ultimately opened the hunter bid investigation um the pressure the tapping of the breakes this was really coming from prosecutors at the US attorney’s office in in Delaware they were telling them you can’t take standard investigative steps we don’t want you issuing subpoenas we don’t want you executing search warrants you can’t ask questions that might lead to the big guy prior to the election now you can say well you know there are prohibitions about taking investigative steps over at investigative steps prior to an election but as the case agent says this was not a presidential candidate this was only the son of a presidential candidate so they said there was clearly a double standard um not only in the IRS and the treatment of this case but also by the justice department Katherine just to to put it in context for people who might not know all the details of the case one of the thing that’s most important to us as journalists and people who are observing the 2020 election and now is that the 5150 odd intelligence officials that came out in said that the laptop was not definitely Russ Russian misinformation but could very well be what you’re reporting is that they knew this and I mean I think we’ve known this before but they knew this well before that letter came out one would presume that these people that were former heads of the CIA Etc would know this information and did you have any indication that they did know that information and went ahead went ahead with it just for purely political purposes well when you look very closely at that statement they released they said it bore the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation yes and and what happened with a lot of the journalists is they kind of distorted that and they conflated it into it’s Russian disinformation or it’s a Russian plan and you make a very good point Michael what was known by the intelligence Community by the FBI the IRS the justice department at that time is that the laptop was authentic and they almost known for an entire year because it was the Cornerstone of the hunter Biden investigation so a former CIA director for example these people are plugged in they could have made some calls to figure out like what’s the word on the street with this Hunter Biden laptop but it looks like they just didn’t they just signed on to this letter um at the behest it looks like secretary blankin was the one who really got the ball rolling on it it wasn’t just you know if I’m sort of like casting my mind back to the time when when everyone was talking about the the laptop there was not just a silencing of the kind that you’re reporting on in this latest story inside the intelligence agencies there was a silencing on the part of anyone that was curious inside the Legacy press you have spent your life inside organizations like CBS FOX News as a reporter you’ve only recently gone independent and you’re crushing it can you reflect a little bit on your time inside CBS um or if you want to speak more generally about the way that the Legacy press responds to stories like this that were sort of inconvenient to their chosen political ideology well what I would say about the hunter Biden laptop uh story is that I was assigned that story um from the very top of CBS George cheek so this is someone who runs news entertainment and then also the sports Division and I was told it was a very high priority for the network um what I didn’t anticipate is that Executives beneath him show producers didn’t have the same appetite for the story and didn’t understand this whole concept of speaking truth to power um and holding both sides of the aisle the left and the right uh accountable so my experience with that story is that while at the top there was a real desire to lead with um you know solid reporting there was a lot of resistance um at at the lower levels and particularly on the Hun Biden laptop um I eventually reported on that for CBS News um in in 2022 late 2022 and what I would say on that point is that anyone who knows me knows it doesn’t take me two years to authenticate anything this doesn’t take me two years and I I’ll leave it at that you know and also to point out that as journalists we know that the corroboration which was presented to the average new news consumer as this very difficult task that all one had to do to get the ball rolling was look at some of those emails contact the people who got those emails and say did you send this email is this you and they would say yes you say okay this stuff is authentic but Catherine I mean this story right now um I know there’s people just say what does this matter now at this point why is it relevant it’s an interesting story looking backwards but but what do you say to people who ask that question well I think that this story matters because it’s about the public having confidence in these institutions that are the Cornerstone of our democracy you want to have confidence that the justice department the FBI the IRS that they’re going to treat American citizens unfairly and there’s not going to be disperate treatment depending on where they are in society what we learned in our investigation from the IRS whistleblowers is they say that there was disperate treat treatment of taxpayers at the IRS that if you were someone like Hunter Biden and you were under investigation there were all of these additional approvals that investigators had to get but if you’re a local business person they were able to go full bore on an investigation with no additional approvals same with the the justice department if you had someone who connected to a presidential candidate there was a lot of tapping of the breaks um but if you know an average person or or you could argue leading up to this election Donald Trump there hasn’t been the same tapping of the breaks in that case so it’s about having consistency having uh confidence in our institutions that people will be treated fairly and just if you can give me one more sec I also think it’s relevant because when you look at what happened in October of 2020 there was a complete suppression of this story on the platforms um and what we know now is that the reporting was accurate and so this I think really is the beginning of this conversation about um free speech Free Press um censorship on platforms and where you can truly have free speech in this Marketplace I mean I think what’s so amazingly damning about your incredible report is that you are showing how the department of Justice the IRS the mainstream media and social media all colluded with the Democratic party and if I am an average American who’s not on board with that where do we go from here I mean what is the we we believe in building things right we believe in restoring trust how do I tell an average person how that they should trust these institutions after a bombshell like this Katherine well I think the question is um this this there’s a larger question here hear about the change in the marketplace you know when I lost my job uh I got terminated by CBS in February I took some time to educate myself about the marketplace and I saw that there’s really been this tectonic shift in the way that um Americans are consuming their news and and information I was lucky to spend some time with Barry talking about her experience and sharing sort of what she saw as the next chapter and the New Horizons here and you can’t argue with the numbers um the public is really flocking to these new platforms they feel that these are uh platforms where they they can be the judge of of the facts and and the truth and that they’ve got the um you know the skill set to do that they don’t have to rely on big corporate media um to do that for them I’m not saying corporate media disappears corporate media I think will always have a seat at the table but we see these diversity of voices coming up on the platforms the Free Press and there’s just a bigger Marketplace and they’re now more seats at the table and Americans have more choices about where they get their news and what they consider to be authentic reliable information Katherine last thing I know you’re always working on a lot of stories uh want to give us any hints about what’s next for you um uh let’s see um I’ve been working very hard on a story related to Afghanistan maybe of interest to you uh at the Free Press um I have very very strong solid reporting about uh Al-Qaeda terrorists um taking a page out of the October 7th uh Playbook and doing training in Afghanistan with ultral lights and paragliders and um the very senior Al-Qaeda operative went to Saudi Arabia recently to get funding to develop a weaponized um drone capability um when I took this information to to the intelligence Community sort of press offices uh frankly I got a big yawn and what I know through my context is that the system is really starting to Blink red in Afghanistan in that kind of pre- 911 way and I don’t think it’s an accident that we’re seeing this evidence of terrorist training like October 7th because that was such an effective and lethal attack from the point of view of Hamas and to think that that skill set and those tactics would not be brought to other Arenas like the United States or us Targets in Europe I think is extremely naive wow I can’t wait to talk to you about that story and I’m going to text you about it right after I will standing by all right Yet today, under the guise of protecting people from “misinformation” and “hate speech,” powerful institutions are curbing our ability to express ideas that do not conform to their narratives.

Do we not see this as a slippery slope toward authoritarianism?

Shouldn’t we, as citizens, be the ones who decide what we can or cannot hear, not a centralized body or corporation?

Social Media and Cable News: Platforms or Gatekeepers?

Social media was once hailed as the bastion of free speech. It allowed ordinary individuals to share their thoughts, advocate for causes, and hold the powerful accountable. However, over the years, major platforms like Twitter (now X), Facebook, and YouTube have become gatekeepers rather than facilitators of free expression.

Algorithms favor certain ideologies, while alternative viewpoints—especially those with a more conservative or constitutional slant—are shadow-banned, demonetized, or outright censored.

Does this not resemble the tactics of monarchies, communistic or fascist regimes that control what their citizens can see and hear?

Shouldn’t a true democracy allow the free flow of ideas, even if those ideas challenge the status quo?

Social Media Influencers: Fighters for Freedom or Puppets of Censorship?

Many social media influencers, especially those aligned with constitutional values, have become modern-day warriors for free speech. Yet, they face intense backlash, censorship, and de-platforming for voicing opinions that challenge globalist or left-leaning narratives.

How many times have we seen influential voices banned simply for questioning government policies, election results, or health mandates?

Isn’t it concerning that only a select group of elites can decide what is “acceptable” discourse?

While some influencers fall in line with these restrictive policies, others have emerged as champions for free speech, using their platforms to resist censorship and uphold constitutional rights. The question is: Will we support these voices, or will we allow them to be drowned out by corporate and governmental censorship?

The Dangers of Socialism, Communism, and Fascism: A Threat to Free Speech

At the heart of socialism, communism, and fascism lies a common tactic—control over speech. These ideologies have historically sought to suppress dissent, limit expression, and create a monolithic narrative that favors those in power.

Look no further than authoritarian regimes past and present, where dissenters are imprisoned, media is state-controlled, and free speech is criminalized. Can we really ignore the striking similarities between these oppressive ideologies and the current state of political discourse in America?

Is the suppression of speech today not a precursor to more draconian measures tomorrow?

Should we not fight to preserve the right to freely express political, social, and economic ideas?
