[Music] podcast I want to talk about a couple of things um in this opening segment first uh brief remark or two about the verdict in the Daniel Penney case exoneration uh which is great news because well Daniel penny is a hero and he did what Good Samaritans are supposed to do he was tortured and punished for it by the New York Criminal Justice System led by this uh ferocious and hideous um lesbian activist uh daphna yuran or whatever her name is and uh on behalf of another misant uh which is Jordan Neely this guy was a menace in the subway threatening people threatening to kill them um and uh this is the this is the guy that Daniel peny put into a choke hoold now it’s sad of course that Jordan Neely died but the idea that Jordan Neely is the true hero um is really the um the message that the Democrats and that the left were trying to send with this prosecution I say the left because you might say well this is just a criminal justice case not really this is the standard case of a left-wing prosecutor uh a Democrat bringing the case to make an example of Daniel peny she U probably hates him sees him as an embodiment of white male privilege I mean think about it who’s the privileged person here if not a yuran if not the prosecutor herself who symbolizes power um not some guy riding the subway who intervenes rather it’s the it’s the system uh the prosecutorial machine in New York which even though Daniel peny has been Vindicated he had to endure it he and he had to face the the suspense the I’m sure the terror to some degree of the fact that he could be put away for years in prison for what for doing the right thing I think we’ve got to realize from all this that the GOP is the party of Daniel Penny and dhna yuran and Jordan Neely well the Democratic party is the party of those guys uh that’s the political message of this case now I’m going to have Eric Maxis come on in a little bit I’m going to talk to him a little more about Daniel peny so let me now pivot to the other criminal case uh in New York and that was the assassination of the United Healthcare C EO and this this is Brian Thompson he was giving a speech or there to give a speech at an investor conference and in a gruesome scene a man pulls out a gun and just basically blasts him to to death now weirdly there was some online sympathy from the left uh toward the shooter again this kind of Twisted sense of priorities Let Us Praise the shooter or implicit ly praise the shooter by saying that this guy had it coming Taylor Loren for example was basically goes you know something to the effect of well people are very disgusted by the Health Care System uh and in effect uh they’re not going to be sad when this kind of thing happened she even posted the name of another uh Healthcare CEO as if to say hey guys if anyone’s looking for another candidate uh for assassination you might want to consider this dude so this is the this is the sick uh mentality uh that is out there and that does not hesitate or is not afraid to manifest uh itself now um the point I want to make here is I want to take seriously this idea that these Healthcare companies are greedy profiteering outfits that they are led by uh these horrible CEOs who deserve the blame for what these companies are doing uh and I want to very open-mindedly ask the question is this in fact true and um I want to argue that by and large uh what we are seeing here is the the um well you could call it the bastard Offspring the bastard offspring of one Barack Obama uh the culprit the original culprit is right there in fact I wanted to call this segment Satan’s little help and he’s like I don’t know if you can do that the people at YouTube and Facebook may you know may have a fit and so we decided no we’re not going to call it Satan’s little we just call it the real culprit that that was my watered down title um but uh the point I want to make is this that look uh you know in Corporate America you’re going to find CEOs that are out to make money uh by the way as they should that’s the job of a corporation is to sell stuff to consumer and make money uh that’s why shareholders buy stocks that’s why you buy stocks that’s why if you have money that you’ve saved up in retirement funds your Pension funds are investing it in stocks for companies to go out and produce products in the market but normally these products are tamed normally the greed of the market so to speak is tamed by competition uh and it’s tamed by the fact that the customer puts a kind of leash uh on the greed of the CEOs why because the customer go no your product is not good enough I’m going to go buy it from someone else no you need to improve your product constantly otherwise I’m going to look elsewhere so in other words you you may be as greedy as you like but you’re not going to be able to do anything from selling bread to making computer software to selling healthare if people don’t want to buy it now Obama comes in and he changes all that and here we have to remember how Obamacare came about you probably do remember but some of you might not Obama realized that the that the the opposition of the healthc Care industry would have sunk Obamacare and so he came up really with in his in his classic form he probably you know went right back to you know right right back to hell he probably sat down with a bunch of other Devils and he sat around talking through how do we get these guys and of course let’s remember that the satanic strategy is always seduction right I mean how was how was Eve um made to eat the apple it wasn’t n that the serpent twisted or you know wrapped himself around her immobilized her fed her the Apple against her will oh no it was that this is a really good apple you really might want to eat it it’s super tasty oh man I ate the apple nothing happened to me you know don’t listen to what God has to say and so this is basically what Obama he brings in all the the healthc care CEOs and he whispers into their ear listen at first glance you may not want Obamacare because after all the government is going to be controlling it they’re going to be in charge you don’t like that you want to set your own prices but guess what I have an idea in fact let me make you an offer you can’t refuse what we’re going to do in Obamacare is we’re going to grab the average American even by the way the young American who doesn’t think he needs health insurance um and we’re going to grab people and force them to buy health insurance we’re going to force them to pay for it and guess what uh that is the ideal position for any business to be in why wouldn’t you want to be in a business where people are forced to take your product businesses love that I mean think about uh think about fizer and Mna and how excited they were I mean they were having a like raptures over the idea that people are going to be forced to take a vaccine why because then they get to charge whatever they want for the vaccine and since people are forced to take it the the the person taking the vaccine may not be paying maybe the government is paying on their behalf but somebody is paying and the money is going to Mna it is going to fizer a number of people became millionaires and the companies became and there are a number of madna billionaires as I understand so this is a racket to be sure but my point is Obama created the racket he’s the one who sold the health care establishment on the idea the insurance establishment on the idea that um that they would do well to support Obamacare as they did because it would give them the opportunity to uh force people to do something even if they didn’t want to do it namely to buy health insurance so a lot of the bureaucracy a lot of the greed comes out of the crony capitalism that is Obamacare now was this guy Brian Thompson part of that yes he was so are all the other healthc care companies they were all roped into the system it was a fan bargain but they went for it and so even though I’m not saying that I’m not saying that the healthcare industry doesn’t bear some responsibility it does I see some doctors now on social media complaining you know oh the doctors are getting screwed well yeah but you know what um the doctors also went along or at least some of them did with the system because even though the system by the way imposed restrictions of doctors one of the restrictions of Obamacare was doctors are not allowed to own hospitals think about it why why would you need such a rule what an odd rule to make but guess what this is this is something that the healthcare industry loved for the simple idea the healthcare industry doesn’t want competition every they’d love to have a monopoly and so it’s the drive for Monopoly it’s a drive for the government to be in your back pocket it’s a drive for the government to force citizens to Fork over money to you this is the root problem with our Health Care system and behind it grinning as always uh and and and keeping himself somewhat in the dark is one Barack Obama look I’m going to be somewhat realistic about my diet in December holiday season it’s generally minister is under arrest he has decamped and received asylum in Russia Russia has been a stalwart Ally of Assad and um and of the alawite regime in Syria and Syria has now been overtaken by opposition forces now who are these opposition forces this is a very tricky question because as often happens in any kind of Revolution you’ve got different groups that are resisting the regime often with different motives and different reasons this was by the way true when the Sha of Iran was ousted in Iran this goes all the way back to 1979 he was opposed by by students he was opposed by business communities he was opposed by religious groups um minority religious groups he was opposed by a left-wing socialists he was opposed by radical mulas and ultimately there was a squabble for power and the mulas took over in fact the mullah then turned against many of the other groups that had worked with them to get rid of the Sha and the mullah got rid of them too establishing of course the Iranian Revolution the situation in Syria is very murky and even in the days leading up to this toppling of Assad by the way I could couldn’t tell you how many foreign policy experts I saw making videos about how Assad is not likely to fall Ian Bremer is a really good example he’s kind of your standard foreign policy establishment type and he’s like here’s why Assad is not going to fall and then a few days later in his new video here’s why Assad fell so this is almost similar to like you know what’s his name uh election Nostradamus here is why kamla Harris is sure to win the election here is why she didn’t win and my marvelous Keys didn’t work so we’re this this all makes us more and more I think appropriately skeptical of these so-called experts who actually frequently and constantly get it wrong and rarely show any kind of introspection or remorse now Trump weighs in a few days before the fall of Assad and he says that opposition uh Fighters have taken over numerous cities and a concentrated offensive they’re moving on Damascus and he says that uh this is a uh even Russia is not able to stop them because Russia’s tied up with the Ukraine war and he goes on to say Syria is a mess and he says but the United States should have nothing to do with it this is not our fight let it play out do not get involved all caps by the way very sensible advice here because um in some of these situations first of all not only do you not have full knowledge of what the situation is but you don’t necessarily know who’s going to emerge triumphant yeah Assad is a bad guy of course in foreign policy the key question is how do we prevent him even if we could get him to be overthrown at what cost what is the US involvement who are we supporting turns out we don’t even know who we’re supporting here’s an interesting article in the Los Angeles Times uh which says in Syria militias armed by the Pentagon fight those armed by the CIA evidently the Pentagon and the CIA I mean our bureaucracy is so huge that they apparently don’t even talk to each other they’re funding different militias and and this might be okay if the militias were fighting on the same side they’re apparently fighting each other quite apart from fighting Assad so this is you know the stupid man’s version of foreign policy when one looks at the Middle East in general we find a kind of depressing pattern and the depressing pattern is that the two main forces of power tend to be on the one hand some kind of secular dictator aka the Sha of Iran AKA Saddam Hussein AKA Bashar Assad on the one hand or by and large some version of a radical Islamic movement on the other aka the Iranian revolutionaries aka the uh the forces of radical Islam that have now largely taken over Iraq uh aka the forces of Isis um and SL Al Qaeda that are active in the campaign against Assad now we’re being assured by some of the neocons uh today uh that the radical Muslims are not the ones who are taking over Syria seemingly Syria is being ruled at least as of right now by groups that are saying that they will respect uh differences they will tolerate religious diversity they will not uh put women in PARTA or in the burka no one really knows if any of this is true uh and I think that making confident predictions about how these countries will turn out uh is a kind of a Fool’s errand so think about it when you have to choose between an Assad who is an obvious Thug uh but a thug by and large who opposes the radical Muslims uh the or you get the radical Muslims who are in some ways uh closer to the people perhaps because after all these are Muslim parts of the world the vast majority of people there are Muslims you know Debby and have had this conversation a few times where I go listen you know in Muslim countries the majority of Muslims by and large are going to want some form of sharia law and quite honestly if you give them democracy that’s what they’re going to vote for so which is better uh a secular dictator who is going to rule with an iron hand but prevent the Ascension to power of radical Islam or the radical Muslims who are going to be extreme in their own way are going to establish some form of rule I mean let’s look at the examples that we have now look at the Taliban in Afghanistan is that a model to be followed look at the mulas in Iran is that a model to be followed no so I think this is the rational basis behind Trump’s statement listen this is not our fight um because not not that the US has uh no interest in the region we have an interest in the region but it’s a pretty modest one uh our oil interests in the region which were considerable afterward World War II are greatly less now uh and so we don’t have to be meddling in everything that happens in in that region part of it is now there are other countries like Israel that may have a stronger interest in the region well let Israel intervene in that case uh because they have more at stake and they’re closer to the situation than than we are so I think for these reasons we have to look with caution on what’s happening in in Syria obviously there’s a part of me that’s very happy that Assad is out is definitely a bad guy but whether he will be replaced by people who are improvements well that remains to be seen are you feeling overwhelmed by the increasing cost of health tried to get him on the more serious manslaughter charge that wasn’t working so they dismissed that one I think the prosecutor thought we’re going to get him on the Lesser charge as a kind of compromise uh Verdict by the jury uh but the jury uh comes in and and acits him what is your reaction and how do you think about the uh think about this not just from a legal point of view but also kind of from a moral point of view well denesh it’s not complicated we are seeing a revolution in America I would submit to you that things have gotten so bad in this country that all kinds of people who have been sleeping are waking up the people on the jury New Yorkers average New Yorkers many of whom probably ride the subway they’re not buying the lunatic Democrat lie that the criminals or those who are threatening people on the subway that they’re the victims they’re not buying that that narrative uh will will not work anymore because these people have had their lives threatened they are on the subway with their kids they’re on their Subway going to difficult jobs they’re fed up so of course the woman prosecutor she’s not part of that group she’s not riding the subway she hates white uh do gooders like Daniel peny she sees them as the oppressor she’s insane uh Alvin Bragg is another one of these lunatics there are plenty of these liberal Elite lunatics and what they’re selling even people of color are no longer buying this they were told for decades you got to go with this these are the Democrats they’re for you they realize no no no we we don’t go with that anymore that’s why many of them voted for Donald Trump something has changed things got so bad that eventually the lies pile up and you say you know what we’re we’re simply not buying it anymore listen I have ridden the subway uh the day of the election in 2016 a bunch of thugs got on the subway car and said did anybody vote for Trump did anybody trying to threaten the whole subway car I raised my hand I said I voted for Trump I’m thinking I’m in my 50s like come at me 21y old punk come on like you’re gonna dare you’re gonna dare threaten people over whom they voted for when you speak up everybody is like it gives them courage and that’s why I spoke up and I got to tell you denish no kidding after I was threatened that day when I got off the train a big guy I don’t know if he was Hispanic or whatever says to me I just want you to know if it got you know crazy in there I had your back there you go tons of people like Daniel peny good guys riding the subway they’ve got your back what happened today encourages them to say I’m going to do the right thing I’m going to protect the innocent I’m G to protect the vulnerable I’m going to protect women and children I’m going to step up because I can because I’m bigger and stronger and I’m not afraid I it’s it’s an amazing moment in this country and I and I think this this sends a signal almost as large as as Trump’s uh win in the election it sends a huge signal to criminals to police uh uh to Cops to law enforcement it sends a huge signal so this is just a glorious day praise God do you think Eric it it sends a signal to the um to the um to people like the prosecutor and I say that because because you know um look she still put him through all this right he had to stand there and and it could have been that if it went the other way they would put him in handcuffs and lead him away for you know a year two years so that’s a pretty the idea of being tortured by the process itself even though in this case it came out okay as long as these cases continue to be brought they they make you think twice about whether or not to be a Good Samaritan well denes I’ll I’ll say this first of all uh you have been a heroic victim of that satanic process I have been a victim much less than you but I don’t normally talk about it I have been a victim of that we need to stand up we need to fight and there is no doubt that uh folks like this woman prosecutor and again these are liberal lunatics they are as out of touch with the working class and the Working Men women of New York City or around this country than anybody I mean they might as well work at the UN or live in Brussels uh but the point the point is a verdict like this sends a signal to them next time don’t bother because people are waking up you probably won’t get a jury that’s going to go along with your lunacy and of course people like this prosecutor she’s now going to be demonized in the press as the lunatic that she is she’s not some hero she’s crazy and your average New Yorker knows that she’s crazy uh so this is not you know what does Nancy Pelosi think what does Alvin Bragg think what does your average American think and your average American thinks that Daniel peny is a hero it is sad that this guy died but Daniel peny is a hero and we need to step up and and and thank them we need to thank them because he didn’t need to step up he could have done what most people do is shrink back by the grace of God he spoke up he stepped up uh you and I speak out we need to do that and God will have our back however it turns out we got to do the right thing it’s almost Eric as if I think about the you know the famous biblical story about the Good Samaritan now in the story The Samaritan comes later after the thief has already beaten up the victim and presumably taken off but you can almost uh move the story a little bit forward and imagine the Samaritan showing up while the thief is robbing the victim and then ask what would the right thing be to do and the answer it answers itself the moment you frame The Dilemma that way of course it’s the duty of the Samaritan in that situation to intervene it would make no sense for the Samaritan to say all right let me wait until the the you know the the beating is completed and the thief has made off and then I will administer Aid uh that makes no sense at all so I think this brings a little bit of moral Clarity to this situation let’s pivot a little away if I may Eric for a moment and ask you about the uh the trump appointees it looks like Trump has um you know Trump is basically letting people know that it’s not business as usual he’s got appointees that seem to be driving the Democrats in the left up the wall uh cash Patel tulsy Gabbert Robert F Kennedy Jr I mean a pretty mly and diverse lot uh and yet a lot you you can almost say calculated to drive the other side insane uh do you agree that Trump is doing a little bit of the up yours if you will with his appointees uh and second of all uh how do you how do you um review the field well I mean it’s an interesting thing because there’s there’s the perception and then there’s the reality and in some cases they they uh they complement each other but yeah the perception is that you know he’s doing this to you know gig uh his enemies but the fact is he is appointing people who are going to do the job of the American people and that alone uh drives the enemies crazy because they hate the American people they’re the globalist lunatic Elites they couldn’t care less about the people of this country any more than this insane prosecutor cares about the people who ride the subway she doesn’t care she doesn’t ride the subway and so Trump is appointing people who are going to get the work done and what is the work that needs to be done it’s to take a flamethrower to the Deep state to take a flamethrower to the bloated satanic bureaucracy which makes George III and the tyrannous British look like good guys uh we are dealing with something so entrenched so evil it has built up over decades now Trump is awake he has been tortured by the process he understands what he’s up against and so it is a beautiful thing and listen this is the you know famous scripture Romans 8:28 all things work together for good for those love the Lord and are called according to his purpose all of the hell of the last four years the last eight years all of these Horrors have had the great effect of waking up the sleeping giant which is to say we the people of waking up uh Donald Trump he’s not the man he was in 2016 he’s not appointing Mike Pence uh he is appointing people that are warriors and all these terrible things had to happen to wake people up and so Donald Trump understands he has a job to do and you know it’s funny because it’s one thing to sort of tweak our enemies it’s another thing to know that I’m just here to do the job and I’ll bet you that as much as he is tweaking his enemies I’ll bet you he’s actually playing his cards close to his vest that there’s going to be stuff that he’s going to do that he hasn’t yet mentioned uh when he gets in the White House that he’s not going to to bring it up now but he’s got all kinds of stuff up his sleep because he knows the work that needs to be done is huge and you’ve got to get the right people you’ve got to get Warriors in there not nice guys Warriors who understand we’re fighting for the American people so I I couldn’t be happier with what I’ve seen and I think we’ve got much more that we will be seeing I mean Eric I couldn’t agree with you more on this I think that when the election election day itself I felt this overwhelming sense of relief but it was more relief of having averted a catastrophe it’s was the relief you feel when your SUV doesn’t go over the cliff uh and plummet down into the ocean you know uh but that’s a long way from feeling a even a glimmer of hope that a lot of the terrible things that have been done to this country over the past four years are going to be undone let alone that people who have been ignored forgotten sidelined by both parties are finally going to be represented in Washington in other words that this idea of making America great again is being taken seriously and measures being put into place to to actually implement it uh you are the author of The Great uh book on Bon Hofer now a film um and what is the what is the lesson of Bon Hofer for our time is it what you alluded to earlier which is listen for whether a small or large Act of Courage is is being asked of you do it because in doing it you motivate and Inspire others is that the Bon Hofer lesson or is there something bro than that well I mean first of all that’s why I say to everybody please see the film uh it’s not officially based on my book who cares it is a great film about one of the greatest figures in history certainly in the 20th century a man who lived out his faith how many Christians do you and I know who do not live out their faith they they play patty cake with the devil they say well I want to be civil I want there’s a time to be civil and there’s a Time to go to war with evil D bofer understood the time had come to go to war with evil that’s what your faith leads you to do to stand against evil and to be a hero to be willing to risk your life how many patriots who do not even call themselves Christians risked their lives gave their lives for liberty for what’s right and good and true and that’s what God is calling everyone to do and absolutely anyone who dares I’m a Christian well if you’re a Christian you need to live out your faith and if you want an example of somebody who does that you look at Dietrich Bon hoofer Dietrich Bon hofer’s life and again the film uh it’s a lot quicker than reading my book it’s a great film be in theaters you know it’s going to be leaving theaters soon because the the progressive Christian lunatics have been criticizing it and screaming about it if you if you can get to a theater hurry up and see it it’s a great film you can bring your kids bring your liberal neighbor everybody will love it my book on Bon Hofer of course came out in 2010 and it’s funny denes when I wrote it I could smell that this is in our future in America that that that somehow what happened in Germany with the church being 100% guilty and saying that well we don’t want any trouble we just want to have a nice church service they were unwilling to speak against evil they gave themselves sort of religious lies cover excuses of why we don’t need to get political complete nonsense it’s not biblical it’s it makes the exact same thing happened in America where you have a lot of people today maybe listening right now who go to churches that don’t take a bold stand on this kind of stuff say oh we just preached the gospel well that’s not will folks God’s will is that you take a bold stand that’s what it is to live out your faith so to Me Bon Hofer is the ultimate example so I say to people please see the movie as soon as possible uh and you know if you want to read the whole story you can read my book my book drove the liberal theologians and acad is crazy they I’ve never been attacked in my life because when you tell the true story of Bon Hofer it shows that they have presented a fraudulent version of Bon hoofer which they’d been doing for 50 years that oh he was this you know sort of agnostic humanist or what you know like them the true story of boner is so beautiful it’s so inspiring so I’m thrilled that somebody made a great movie about it and I’m thrilled that we’re talking about it he to me he is the example of what we’re talking about somebody who says you know what I don’t need to step up but I will step up I believe it’s the right thing to do and thereby inspiring others to do the same thing to step up when everybody else says I don’t want any trouble you say I want some trouble let’s do it and honestly it’s very precient of you Eric to have picked up on that theme as early as 2010 I mean many of us you know this I think a lot of this bad stuff began under Obama but nevertheless it didn’t escalate to the current degree under Biden and Harris uh and so the book uh you know in a way was ahead of its time uh let’s talk about the new one which is uh which I read is going to be uh well available in a couple of days available for pre-order now conversation tomorrow yeah tomorrow on the exam life tomorrow we’re having our 25th anniversary of Socrates in the city we have had many great speakers over 25 years you uh are one of them you’re two of them actually because you uh have twice you did a debate once and another time you spoke about one of your books I have been interviewing people uh more lately the last 15 years I I interview people and it’s kind of like you know let’s talk about the big questions of life is there a god uh does life have meaning all of those big questions we ask at Socrates in the city and uh the website of course is Socrates andthe city.com but Socrates said the unexamined life is not worth living in other words let’s dare to talk about truth what is truth what are the big questions because it’s my belief as a Christian that if you ask the big questions honestly you will be led to the god of the Bible you will be led to beautiful things and a lot of people are afraid to ask those questions in sophisticated circles you know we don’t talk about that so socan City exists uh to ask those questions so we’ve got tons of videos up they’ve got I think 15 million views and these are substantive conversations but with tons of of different guests we’ve been doing it for 25 years and tomorrow we publish our first Socrates and City book so it is a compilation of some of the best conversations that I’ve had uh a number of the folks uh have have passed on real heroes and I looked at the transcripts and I edited the transcripts and I said these are the most powerful conversations I’ve ever had in my life I need to put them in a book so the book is Socrates in the city conversations on the examined life uh it’s a physically beautiful book but it’s the sort of thing that you can give to somebody who maybe isn’t on the same page as you are but you say let’s let’s think together about the big questions all the speakers and all the guests are very sophisticated and so it’s a it’s a wonderful thing and I can’t believe it’s 25 years and I can’t believe we finally came out with a book you’ve got uh I mean quite a mix of great people here Alice Von hilderbrand you’ve got the philosopher and theologian mathematician John Lennox you’ve got the got dick cavat of course the legendary um uh host and TV host uh Yan me park the North Korean Defector Mark helprin the political and foreign policy strategist so it’s a range of people talking about profound questions guys I’ve been talking to Eric Maxis his website Eric maxxis.com you can follow him on X Eric Maxis Eric it’s always a pleasure and thank you for joining me my pleasure Tes thank you I’m continuing my discussion of the big lie now out in paperback and um I spoke the last time about musolini and now I want to talk about about Hitler and the National Socialist Party that is otherwise known as the Nazi party the first thing that Hitler did when he came to power is he changed the name of the German Workers Party to the you guessed it national socialist German Workers Party and um Hitler was very clear about his socialist commitments I’m quoting him now from a 1927 speech quote we are socialists we are the enemies of today’s capitalist system of exploitation and we are determined to destroy this system under all conditions that’s a sample quotation which shows you that Hitler was even as he campaigned remember Hitler didn’t come to power till 1933 so in 1927 he’s telling the German people this is what I stand for I am a socialist Nazi party had a 25o program you can look it up um for yourself I cite the key elements of it here uh I’m going to read a bunch of them nationalization of large corporations and trusts government control of banking and credit seizure of land without compensation for public use the splitting of large land Holdings into smaller units confiscation of War profits prosecution of bankers and other lenders on grounds of Usery abolition of incomes unearned by work profit sharing for workers in all large corporations a broader pension system paying higher benefits Universal free health care and education interestingly this is not even all classic socialism it sounds more like modern Democratic progressivism in fact if you read the Nazi platform without knowing its source you could be forgiven for thinking you were reading from the 2024 platform of the democratic party uh or at least a platform drafted by people like Bernie Sanders Elizabeth Warren perhaps kamla Harris herself now some of the language is out of date if you obviously were talking about a document that came out more than a century ago Democrats don’t talk about Usery but they’ll talk about Wall Street profit fers or Wall Street greed so with a few swapping out of terms swap out Usery put in Wall Street profiteers swap out Nazi put in Democrat uh it kind of all works and in fact if you were to read this kind of platform I’m pretty sure you’d get thunderous Applause uh from Rank and file progressives and and Democrats now the progressive intelligencia is very eager to distance the Nazi platform uh and in fact Hitler from socialism and how do they do this well what they say is that the Nazi party had a socialist Wing that was headed by the straser brothers Otto and Gregor straser and they go notice that um Otto straser was expelled from the party in 1930 he went into Exile and Gregor straser was killed on Hitler’s orders in 1934 during the so-called night of the Long Knives and so the theme of the progressive leftist people like Robert Paxton today is look Hitler kind of got rid of his left-wing faction by pushing out the straser brothers and U but uh this story is a little more complicated than that the sters were key figures in the party uh they were close to Hitler in fact the sters wrote the Nazi platform along with Hitler himself and ultimately the reason that Hitler pushed Out Auto straser is he wanted to start his own party which he eventually did and the other straser stayed in the Nazi party and Hitler had appointed him head of the party in Northern Germany Northern and Western Germany so why did Hitler have this guy uh straser killed well it turns out there was a big fight inside the Nazi party and and we can see the the fight in aate made by GBL who was a close Ally of of straser and GBL as you know became ultimately Hitler’s propaganda Minister now writing in his diary Geral ask the following question about national socialism what has priority and what comes second in other words you have National and you have socialism you have nationalism you have socialism which is more important obviously you want to have both but let’s say you have to choose which would you choose which would you give put in the first position and which in the second position and then gerbal gave his own answer first socialism and then National Liberation so for Geral as for straser socialism first and then nationalism second Hitler gave the opposite answer nationalism first and socialism second in fact Hitler’s view was that socialism is too good and IDE idea to waste on Jews and non-germans so Hitler’s idea was let’s fight let’s defeat these other countries uh let’s bring them under German subjugation let’s expel or ultimately kill the Jews and then when we have happy Germans ruling over this large territory will all enjoy the benefits of socialism including the benefits of stealing from all the people that we have subjugated this was Hitler’s idea so Hitler’s idea was nationalism precedes socialism and and ultimately Geral uh moved over into Hitler’s side he was in the straser camp but he decided he was taken by Hitler’s magnetism he thought okay well Hitler’s got it right and so Hitler absorbs geres into the regime uh and straser becomes an enemy of the regime Hitler accuses him of betraying national socialism and um and strer the other straser is executed now Hitler like musolini had to make some deals particularly when he was coming to power he made a deal with the the church why because he needed the Lutheran uh support he needed the Bavarian Catholic support in um in the um eastern part of Germany and he also needed big business at the beginning uh both to keep the economy humming and also to supply him with vast amounts of War material that he was going to need in the invasions and battles ahead so Hitler’s goal was let’s make nice with the church and the business Community until I can get full control and then I will bring them to heal then I will bring them under my thumb then I will subjugate them in the way that I want to from the outset but can’t because I don’t have full power so this is what I was alluding to a couple of days ago last week when I talked about the fact that principles and practice are two different things you’re never going to get a onetoone match of principles and practice and that’s true in any situation uh even on our side or whether it’s the left or whether it’s us you know Reagan comes into Power Reagan implements a number of aspects of his agenda but not all other things have to wait and some things will have to wait to come after Reagan’s own day same is true with Trump we have the make America great again agenda some of it will be implemented ideally a good bit of it but probably not all of it and so what Hitler is doing here is waiting until he’s able to establish full control then he’s going to put full socialism you may say in effect but of course that doesn’t happen uh why because the war didn’t end well for Hitler um it uh it ends in total collapse for Nazi Germany uh and so then you have the end of Nazism of course total collapse for Italy that’s the end of fascism of the musolini brand and then somewhat later in 1989 between 1989 and 1992 the collapse of Soviet communism so toward the end of the century many people would look back and go wow looks like we have defeated collectivism on all fronts why because communism is dead it has been completely discredited fascism is dead it’s been completely discredited Nazism is dead it’s been completely discredited um but this is in fact a little bit of a short-sighted view uh and and it’s in fact wrong it’s wrong because of those three fascism Nazism and communism only one of those three was in fact tried and collapsed of its own weight and that’s Soviet communism Soviet communism was tried from the early teens or the late teens I’m sorry uh all the way to the end of the 20th century and it did collapse and it did collapse largely of its own weight Fascism and Nazism did not collapse of their own weight they were defeated militarily from the outside uh and so it is I suppose theoretically possible for someone to say well Fascism and Nazism could work uh but uh they just weren’t given a chance to work because Hitler and musolini got into an international war and they were defeated militarily and so their ideas weren’t really tried I think it’s very interesting that that these ideas of fascism and of Nazism in a somewhat modified form but not a radically modified form are are still with us today but they are with us today now under a different name uh obviously the modern progressives who adopt policies that were once tried by people like musolini are not going to say that we are The Heirs of musolini they’re not going to claim a lineage to Hitler they know that that would be lethal that would be disastrous and so what they do is they pursue some of the same policies but now in a kind of anti-fascist guise we’re we’re antifa we’re the party fighting fascism and so you have a situation where you have to look at what fascism is what it means what its policies are to recognize the fascist streak in the left and in the Democratic party today these are really old ideologies now marching uh on a different continent ours under new colors we could call it I suppose a fascism for the
